Abstract

Indonesia tengah giat melakukan program pengembangan tol
laut. Program tersebut akan menambah jumlah produksi dan
penggunaan kapal secara signifikan. Hal ini akan berimbas
pada kebutuhan bahan bakar yang semakin meningkat. Gas
alam merupakan salah satu sumber energi alternatif yang
dapat menggantikan minyak bumi yang jumlahnya cenderung
menipis. Salah satu contoh gas alam yang dapat digunakan
sebagai bahan bakar alternatif di kapal adalah Liquified
Natural Gas (LNG). Pada tugas akhir ini dilakukan
perencanaan untuk fasilitas pencairan gas alam. Metode
refrigrasi cascade digunakan dalam proses pencairan tersebut.
Pada metode ini dilikukan desain process flow diagram (PFD)
hingga didapatkan data untuk melakukan perhitungan mesin
pendingin. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan, untuk memenuhi
kebutuhan 10 MMCFD ditentukan variabel kontrol 1 bar, 3
bar, 7 bar dan 20 bar. Dari setiap variabel kontrol tersebut
diperlukan total daya 1453,7 kw ; 978,25 kw; 1044,02 kw;
1355,20 kw dengan kapasitas suplai gas 8750 kg/h

production and shipping significantly. Comes along with the
needs of fuel. Natural gas is an alternative to reduce fuel oil
usage due to continously decreasing of its amount. Liquefied
natural gas (LNG) is one of an example of alternative marine
fuel. This bachelor thesis constructs natural gas liquefaction
facility. Cascade refrigeration method applied inside that
system. Inside, process flow diagram diagram (PFD) is to be
designed comes with the obtained required data for
refrigeration system calculation. The result from the
calculation shown the required 10 mmscfd in control variable
of 1 bar, 3 bar, 7 bar, and 20 bar. In each control variable
needs total power 1,453.7 kW; 978.25 kW; 1,044.02 kW;
1,355.20 kW with gas supply capacity 8,750 kg/h
