Abstract

Jalapatih 2 is a solar-powered boat team JTSP FTKITS students who follow the race dutch solar Challenge 2016,as the result of improvements Jalapatih 1 who fail participated in a race on a similar contest in 2014, suspect due to the minimum speed set by the committee could not be reached. Failure Jalapatih 1 due to too simple a system used to be, so that by 2016 Jalapatih 2 improvement and equipped with MPPT and BMS to improve solar energy absorption capability and battery charge and discharge arrangements. testing speed and electrical system performed by manual methods or experiment and simulation software. In accordance with the test results in a ITS lake, Jalapatih 2 can reach speeds up to 7.3 knots. While the results achieved when playing games in the Netherlands in tanggl 2 to 9 July 2016 2 Jalapatih speed up to 6.2 knots. This speed reduction due to the intensity of solar energy in the Netherlands is much smaller than in Indonesia and less optimal absorption of solar energy by solar panel cells are used. Wherein four solar panels were used, only a single piece MPPT.
