Abstract

Hasil uji eksperimental menunjukkan penambahan
bioetanol pada bahan bakar bensin premium cenderung
meningkatkan densitas dan viskositas tetapi menurunkan nilai
kalor. Sedangkan unjuk kerja cenderung mengalami peningkatan
performa dan terjadi penurunan emisi. Torsi, daya dan bmep
tertinggi didapatkan oleh campuran E10 dengan kenaikan
masing-masing sebesar 2,40%, 2,94% dan 2,72% dibandingkan
dengan premium. Sedangkan konsumsi bahan bakar spesifik (sfc)
terendah didapatkan oleh campuran E10 dengan penurunan
sebesar 4,14% dibandingkan dengan premium. Karakteristik
minyak pelumas untuk bahan bakar E5, E10 dan E15 relatif
stabil seperti bahan bakar premium. Pencampuran bioetanol
pada premium cenderung menurunkan suhu operasional mesin,
yaitu mencapai 3,02% pada campuaran 15%. Untuk visualisasi
ruang bakar pemakaian bahan bakar E5, E10 dan E15
menghasilkan pengotoran relatif lebih tipis dibandingkan bahan
bakar premium. Secara keseluruhan penambahan bioetanol
sampai 15% tidak mengalami perubahan pada kondisi
operasional mesin.

Human dependence on non-renewable energy
progressively increasing along with increasing human
population. Though the availability of non-renewable energy the
longer will be depleted. Therefore the needs for renewable
energy development energy today is very important. One of the
renewable energy sources are likely to be developed in the
country is ethanol. Ethanol has characteristics similar to
Premium with a RON value of 108. In this study, we want to know
the performance characteristics and exhaust emissions of
gasoline engines using fuel with a mixture of ethanol 99.5%
premium after durability test during the 5000 KM. In this study
also wanted to know the effect of the use of a mixture of ethanol
99.5% with a premium on space fuel and lubricating oil after
being used for 5000 KM.
Experiment conducted with a durability test car as far as
5,000 km with a fuel mixture of ethanol and gasoline with ethanol
mixture variation of 5%, 10% and 15%, measurements covering
the content of lubricating oils and visualization of the combustion
chamber. Further testing performed at the Laboratory of
Combustion and Fuels Engineering Department of Mechanical
Engineering FTI-ITS using four-stroke gasoline engine Toyota
Vios with a mixture of ethanol variation of 5%, 10%, and 15%
with 3000 engine rev up to 6000 rpm. Measurements include
torque, power, fuel consumption time, T oil, radiator T, and T
and the exhaust gas emissions of HC, CO and CO2.
Experimental test results showed the addition of fuel
bioethanol in gasoline tends to increase the density and viscosity,
but decrease in calorific value. Meanwhile, the performance
tends to increase performance and decrease emissions. Torque,
power and highest BMEP obtained by a mixture of E10 with each
increment of 2.40%, 2.94% and 2.72% compared to the premium.
While the specific fuel consumption (sfc) Lowest obtained by a
mixture of E10 with a decrease of 4.14% compared to the
premium. Characteristics of lubricating oil to fuel E5, E10 and
E15 are relatively stable as premium fuel. Mixing bioethanol at a
premium tends to lower the operating temperature of the engine,
which reached 3.02% in campuaran 15%. For visualization of
the combustion chamber fuel E5, E10 and E15 generate fouling
relatively thinner than premium fuel. Overall the addition of
bioethanol to 15% no change in the operational condition of the
engine.
