Abstract

indikator kesehatan, SDM maupun ekonomi.
mengatasi hal tersebut digunakan metode Generalized Method of Moment
semakin tinggi.

Poverty gap index is the average size of population distribution the poor people
between the poverty line. There’s many factors that affect the poverty gap index
such as healthy factors or economics factors. Therefore it is necessary to find
good statistics models to find to analyze the factors affecting the poverty gap
index in Indonesia. The data is used in this study are the SUSENAS poverty data
in Indonesia from 2008 to 2012, which is a longitudinal data. There is why weed
need a good statistics modeling for a longitudinal data. One of the longitudinal
data analyzing methods is Generalized Method of Moment (GMM). Generalized
Method of Moments (GMM) is a generic method for estimating parameters in
statistical models. The GMM estimators are known to be consistent,
asymptotically normal, and efficient in the class of all estimators that do not use
any extra information aside from that contained in the moment conditions. The
estimator is defined by minimizing . In this study, we
used 3 model of longitudinal data regression : Common Effect Models, Fixed
Effect Models and Random Effect Model. We used 3 test mehtods : Chow-test,
Lagrange Multiplier test and Hausman test to find the best of those 3 models. We
found that the best models for poverty data in Indonesia is Fixed Effect models.
The conclusion was if the higher average length of school (X1) and life
expectancy (X6), then the poverty gap index will be smaller. Meanwhile, if the
higher percentage of non-food expenses (X2) and the percentage of households
that never buy cheapest rice or raskin (X4), then the poverty gap index will also
higher
