Abstract

Right now the usage of 3D printing are vary even in the application in transportation such as bicycle. Balance bike is a type of a bike which used to train the children to polish their balance while riding. The steering of a bike is an important part where this part act as a main control system of the bicycle. Beside that, the carbon-fiber nylon filament is very suitable because of its good strength and lightweightness. To be able to become a good design, the geometry design will also take part because the geometry will undergo simulation to achieve optimal strength. The variation of the geometry which used are Geometry A, Geometry B, and Geometry C. The results of the static simulation shows that variation of the geometry B generally have the best static simulation results with total deformation of 0,00349 m, maksimum stress of 4,88 Mpa, and elastic strain of 0,00461 m/m. Then in the weight analysis the geometry B has the most lightweight. In the survey analysis which already done proves that geometry B has the biggest choice so that from the design analysis conclude that this research would use geometry B as the printed object. The printing parameters which would be use are shell, infill, speed, travel, flow, and print support. After being scaled by the mass scale, steering geometry B has the weight of 760 grams.
