Abstract

The enhancement of textiles modified with nanoparticles received considerable attention. A great number of nanoparticles can be deposited on textile fibers. Although several methods of deposition of silver nanoparticles can be carried out, the current trend focuses on methods that are more affordable and environmentally friendly. Therefore, this study aims to modify antifungal textiles with AgNPs using the green method. Textile properties such as surface morphology, elemental content, density, water absorption, and antifungal ability are comprehensively characterized. This study shows that deposition of AgNPs in textiles can be successfully carried out using the green method, which appropriate by surface morphological characterization using FESEM and EDX. The water absorption ability of modified textiles is lower than unmodified textiles. In addition, the antifungal ability is effective on modified textiles after 5 washing cycles.
