Abstract

Sinyal OFDM terdiri atas penjumlahan sejumlah subcarrier yang
dimodulasi secara independen. Apabila fasa setiap subcarrier sama
maka akan dihasilkan daya sinyal maksimum sebesar N kali daya rataratanya.
Perbandingan
antara
daya
sinyal

maksimum dengan daya rataratanya

biasa disebut sebagai Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR).
akhirnya menurunkan kinerja OFDM.
ditransmisikan. Dengan kata lain, diperlukan skema pereduksi PAPR
pada bagian transmitter sinyal OFDM. Ada beberapa teknik untuk
menurunkan nilai PAPR yaitu, Partial Transmit Sequence (PTS),
Selective Maping (SLM), Clipping, Interleaving, Sub Block Coding,
Peak Windowing.

OFDM signal consists the sum of a number of independently
modulated subcarriers. If the phase of each subcarrier are equals, it will
produce the maximum signal power amounts N times of average power.
Comparison between the maximum signal power and the average power
commonly referred as Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR). The huge
PAPR value on OFDM requires an amplifier with a wide dynamic range
to accommodate the signal amplitude. If this is not complete then linear
distortion will happen which causes the subcarrier is no longer
orthogonal and will reduce the performance of OFDM in the end.
To solve the high PAPR value is minimazing the PAPR value of
the OFDM signal which will be transmitted. It requires the scheme
PAPR reducer on OFDM signal transmitter. There are several
techniques to reduce the PAPR value, Partial Transmit Sequence (PTS),
Selective Maping (SLM), Clipping, Interleaving, Sub Block Coding,
Peak Windowing.
In this final project, the implementation of the PAPR reduction
using clipping method on DSK TMS320C6416T. TMS320C6416 is a
high-speed microprocessor with suitable architecture type is used to
process signals in real time. After the simulation, implementation and
analysis can be concluded that the method of clipping can reduce the
PAPR value by 0.3% to 50%. The value of PAPR reduction depends on
the clipping level and amounts of used subcarrier. The more PAPR
reduction, the result of BER value is better. Value BER is got from
PAPR reduction using this clipping method until 10
