Abstract

Indonesia merupakan negara tropis yang memiliki perkebunan kelapa yang luas dan produksi buah terbesar di dunia. Usia produktif kelapa yang terbatas membuat banyak batang kelapa harus ditebang dan tidak dimanfaatkan kembali. Hanya kayu kelapa dengan usia tertentu serta bagian tertentu pula yang dapat dimanfaatkan. Bagian-bagian kayu kelapa memiliki ciri yang berbeda-beda sesuai dengan letak kayunya mulai dari kulit luar hingga dalam. Karakter serat kayu kelapa yang unik pada setiap cara potongnya dapat dieksplorasi kembali untuk menambah nilai estetika dan kesan yang berbeda jika diaplikasikan pada produk fashion. Sekarang ini, jam tangan dengan bahan natural merupakan produk fashion yang cukup digandrungi anak muda. Namun masih sedikit inovasi produk jam tangan untuk wanita yanga da dipasaran. Inovasi desain diperlukan untuk menghasilkan alternatif baru produk olahan kayu kelapa sebagai bahan baku utama. Oleh karena itu, penulis ingin menghasilkan produk jam tangan fashion berbahan limbah kayu kelapa menggunakan teknik CNC (Computer Numerical Control), pewarnaan dan penggabungan dengan epoxy untuk kombinasi bahan. Dengan mengusung konsep Feminine, Chic and Earthy natural, and Interchangeable. Kayu kelapa memang bisa tampil trendy tetapi tidak meninggalkan kesan sabut kelapa yang berkarakter.

Indonesia is a tropical country that has extensive coconut plantations and the largest fruit production in the world. The limited productive age of coconuts means that many coconuts have to be cut down and not reused. Only coconut wood with a certain age and certain parts can also be used. The parts of coconut wood have different characteristics according to the location of the wood from the outer to the inner shell. The unique character of coconut wood fiber in each method of cutting can be explored again to add aesthetic value and a different impression when applied to fashion products. Nowadays, watches with natural materials are a fashion product that is quite loved by young people. However, there are still few product innovations for women's watches on the market. Design innovation is needed to produce new alternatives for coconut wood processing products as the main raw material. Therefore, the author wants to produce a fashion watch product made from coconut wood waste using CNC (Computer Numerical Control) techniques, coloring and combining with epoxy for material combinations. By carrying out the concept of Feminine, Chic and Earthy natural, and Interchangeable. Coconut wood can look trendy but it doesn't leave the impression of coconut husk with character.
