Abstract

Orifice Meter is a very important tool in the industrial world, especially in the oil and gas field. The use of this orifice meter is to measure the difference in pressure from the upstream (before passing the orifice plate) and downstream (after passing the orifice plate). Between the upstream and downstream sides there is the main component of the orifice meter, namely the orifice plate. This flow on the upstream side will bump the fluid into the orifice plate so that there is a pressure difference which later results in the pressure value of the incoming fluid. In this final project, the Orifice Meter that will be reviewed belongs to oil and gas company. At present, the installed Orifice Meter has a weakness, namely the inaccurate differential pressure (Ch) reading due to a change in Artificial Lift from Gas Lift to ESP which causes a pressure difference so that the orifice size must be designed / updated / replaced with the right size. Therefore, this research was conducted to redesign the orifice meter with accurate diameter and simulated using CFD software. From the research results, it can be concluded that the diameter of 1.375 is the most accurate because at the flow rate of 200 the differential pressure value is 3.09, the flow rate 300 is the value of the differential pressure is 4.64, the flow rate is 400 the value of the differential pressure is 6.18, the flow rate 500 is the value of the differential pressure is 7.73, and the flow rate 600, the differential pressure value is 9.28.
