Abstract

=====================================================================================================

Dry-Docking is a regular, periodic overhauling process founded primarily because of the very special nature of ship’s environment which is under water operations. Dry docking is considered as an expensive process which requires systematic and efficient planning and cost estimation to minimize overhead costs along with other unnecessary spending. The purpose of this research is to minimize the dry docking cost and make it efficient. One of the process of dry docking is ship replating. To minimized losses on the shipyard in replating process, it requires the estimation of materials needed, cost, and planning of man hours so that no undesirable things happen to the shipyard company, such as the addition of work hours and excessive use of materials. From the research it can be concluded that the total materials needed for replating process are 4055.57 Kg, the total man hours are 1344.02 JO. For the cost material requirements of Rp81,111,400, - and labor costs as much as Rp20,277,850, -. So that the total of the total cost of activities are Rp101,389,250, -.
