Abstract

Limbah sandblasting merupakan sisa hasil kegiatan sandblasting di industri. Kandungan limbah sandblasting yang banyak mengandung unsur silika (Si), sehingga limbah sandblasting dipilih sebagai bahan dasar penelitian ini.
Metode penelitian pada tugas akhir ini terdiri dari 4 tahapan, yaitu penelitian mengenai material penyusun, mix design, pembuatan semen geopolimer, serta pembuatan pasta geopolimer. Pengujian material penyusun meliputi uji XRF, XRD, dan SEM-EDX. Tujuan tugas akhir ini terletak pada pembuatan mix design mengenai variasi substitusi limbah sandblasting (0% SB, 25% SB, 50% SB, dan 75% SB) dengan rasio Na2SiO3 : NaOH sebesar 1:1. Berbagai pengujian dilakukan untuk mengetahui performa pasta geopolimer meliputi, uji kuat tekan, uji UPV, uji porositas, serta uji resistivitas. Pengujian pasta dilakukan pada umur 3, 7, dan 28 hari. Selain itu juga dilakukan pengujian waktu pengikatan semen. Adapun perawatan benda uji yang dilakukan yaitu perawatan dengan paparan udara sekitar (ambient curing). Dari hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin banyaknya jumlah limbah sandblasting pada pasta geopolimer membuat kuat tekan yang diperoleh semakin menurun: 0% SB = 34,63 MPa, 25% SB = 25,87 MPa, 50% SB = 9,8 MPa, dan 75% SB = 4,97 MPa, begitu pula dengan uji upv dan resistivitas, namun untuk pengujian porositas semakin banyak limbah sandblasting dapat mengurangi presentasi pori yang ada pada pasta geopolimer. Hasil uji waktu pengikatan semen geopolimer menunjukkan bahwa penambahan limbah sandblasting dapat menambah waktu ikat pasta semen geopolimer dibandingkan dengan pasta geopolimer tanpa limbah sandblasting. Sehingga diperoleh variasi yang memenuhi standar semen Portland SNI 2049-2015 adalah variasi Mix 1 (0% Sandblasting). =====================================================================================================
Sandblasting waste is the residual result of sandblasting activities in the industry. The content of sandblasting waste contains a lot of silica (Si), so that sandblasting waste was chosen as the basic material of this study.
The research method in this final project consists of 4 stages, research on constituent materials, mix design, manufacture of geopolymer cement, and manufacture of geopolymer paste. Testing of constituent materials includes XRF, XRD, and SEM-EDX tests. The purpose of this final project lies in making a mix design regarding the variation of substitution of sandblasting waste (0% SB, 25% SB, 50% SB, and 75% SB) with a Na2SiO3: NaOH ratio of 1:1. Various tests were carried out to determine the performance of the geopolymer paste including, compressive strength test, UPV test, porosity test, and resistivity test. Paste testing was carried out at 3, 7, and 28 days of age. In addition, the cement binding time was also tested. The treatment of the test objects carried out is treatment with ambient curing. The results of this study indicate that the increasing amount of sandblasting waste in the geopolymer paste decreases the compressive strength obtained: 0% SB = 34.63 MPa, 25% SB = 25.87 MPa, 50% SB = 9.8 MPa, and 75% SB = 4.97 MPa, as well as the upv and resistivity tests, however for porosity testing the more sandblasting waste can reduce the pore presentation present in the geopolymer paste. The results of the geopolymer cement binding time test show that the addition of sandblasting waste can increase the binding time of the geopolymer cement paste compared to geopolymer paste without sandblasting waste. So that it is obtained that the variation that conform SNI 2049-2015 Portland cement standard is Mix 1 (0% Sandblasting) variation.
