Abstract

Mental health problem is projected to account for 13% of global burden and lead as biggest cause of mortality by 2030. In Indonesia, it was found that only 42% of people having mental issue are seeking help. In the era of industrial 4.0, telemedicine is one of the technologies that has been implemented to help people getting mental health service easily. People could get mental health service through offline, online, or combination of both channels. Nevertheless, there are still some barriers for getting service through these channels, which related to technological, social, financial, and behaviour aspects. This research is conducted to know the variables which affect people’s preference to choose a channel and predicting the preference of channel, which can be used as the recommendation for mental health providers to improve their service. Using logit model, there are 8 significant variables, including age, symptoms duration, information sharing, time flexibility, budget, data usage, privacy concern, and health compensation. This model shows that younger groups of people are more likely to use online than older group. Besides, people who are less concerned with data leaking also found to be more likely using online channel over offline channel than people who are very worried. Furthermore, people who seek help before experiencing symptoms for 6 months prefer using online or combination channel. At last, people who usually get information related to mental health service also found to choose online and combination channel over offline channel.
