Abstract

Pada dunia industri diperlukan metode kontrol yang optimal agar produk yang dihasilkan dapat sesuai dengan yang diinginkan. Salah satu equipment yang perlu dikendalikan adalah heat exchanger. Heat exchanger merupakan equipment yang bertujuan melakukan pertukaran panas dari fluida yang bertemperatur tinggi ke fluida yang bertemperatur rendah. Terdapat beberapa jenis heat exchanger, namun salah satu heat exchanger yang sering digunakan adalah heat exchanger shell and tube (STHE). Pada bagian dalam STHE terdapat baffle. Baffle sendiri memiliki beragam jenis, salah satunya yaitu single segmental baffle, setelah diketahui desain dari STHE yang digunakan, perlu adanya sistem pengendalian agar tercapainya kriteria produk yang sesuai dengan setpoint. Sistem pengendalian yang baik perlu dilakukan pemilihan metode kontrol yang tepat, pada penulisan tugas akhir ini akan membahas pengaruh metode kontrol IMC-PID yang dibandingkan dengan Ziegler Nichols-PID terhadap STHE segmental baffle. Hasil yang diperoleh dengan diterapkannya IMC-PID serta menggunakan berbagai variasi lambda(λ), agar pengendalian sesuai dengan setpoint. IMC-PID dengan lambda λ > 0.1τ memberikan hasil respon yang lebih baik dalam menjaga kestabilan walaupun ditambahkan disturbance. Hal ini diperoleh dari nilai IAE sebesar 455.0447 yang merupakan hasil terbaik dibandingkan dengan metode kontrol yang dilakukan.

In the industrial world, an optimal control method is needed to produce the desired product. One of the types of equipment that need to be controlled is the heat exchanger. A heat exchanger is an equipment that aims to exchange heat from high to low-temperature fluid. There are several types of heat exchangers, but the most used heat exchanger is the shell and tube heat exchanger (STHE). On the inside of the STHE there exist baffles. Baffle itself has several types, one of which is a single segmental baffle. After knowing the design of the STHE used, it is necessary to have a control system to achieve product criteria that are in accordance with the setpoint. A good control system needs to be selected the right control method, in writing this final project will discuss the effect of the IMC-PID control method compared to Ziegler Nichols-PID on STHE segmental baffle. The results were obtained by applying IMC-PID and using various variations of lambda(λ), so the control is accordant with the setpoint. IMC-PID with lambda λ > 0.1τ gives better results in maintaining stability even with added disturbance. It shows by the IAE value of 455.0447 which gives the best value compared to other control methods
