Abstract

Sintesis HKUST-1 dan komposit Fe2O3/HKUST-1 telah berhasil dilakukan dengan metode solvotermal pada suhu 100 °C selama 10 jam dalam pelarut DMF:Etanol:AquaDM dengan perbandingan volume (1:1:1). Penambahan Fe2O3 dilakukan dengan variasi massa sebesar 5, 10, dan 20% terhadap massa HKUST-1. Material yang dihasilkan dinotasikan sebagai Fe(5)/HKUST-1, Fe(10)/HKUST-1 dan Fe(20)/HKUST-1, kemudian dikarakterisasi menggunakan XRD, FTIR, dan SEM-EDX. Difraktogram XRD semua material hasil sintesis menunjukkan puncak karakteristik yang sama dengan HKUST-1 standar. Spektra FTIR material hasil sintesis menunjukkan pita serapan pada bilangan gelombang yang sama dengan HKUST-1 dan Fe2O3 yang telah dilaporkan. Morfologi Fe2O3/HKUST-1 berupa kristal oktahedral yang hampir sama dengan morfologi HKUST-1 standar. Hasil uji adsorpsi metilen biru (MB) menunjukkan bahwa Fe(20)/HKUST-1 memiliki kapasitas adsorpsi tertinggi sebesar 222,222 mg/g serta mengikuti model kinetika adsorpsi orde dua semu dan isotermal adsorpsi Langmuir.

Synthesis of HKUST-1 and Fe2O3/HKUST-1 composites have been succesfully carried out with solvothermal method at 100 °C for 10 hours in DMF:Etanol:AquaDM solvents with volume ratio 1:1:1. The Fe2O3 was added to the reaction mixture with mass variations of Fe2O3, i.e. 5, 10, and 20% toward the mass of HKUST-1. The obtained materials were denoted as Fe(5)/HKUST-1, Fe(10)/HKUST-1, and Fe(20)/HKUST-1, then characterized by XRD, FTIR, and SEM-EDX. The diffractogram patterns of the synthesized materials showed similarity to that of HKUST-1 standard. FTIR spectra of the synthesized materials showed absorption bands at the same wavenumbers as reported for HKUST-1 and Fe2O3. The morphology of Fe2O3/HKUST-1 had the same shape as the HKUST-1. The results of the adsorption methylene blue (MB) showed that Fe(20)/HKUST-1 had the highest adsorption capacity of 222,222 mg/g, and followed the pseudo second order adsorption kinetics and Langmuir isothermal adsorption.
