Abstract

The subduction zone is a meeting between two plates or commonly called the Megathrust zone, one of which is located in the southern part of Java Island. This megathrust zone has a large enough seismic potential. The Seismic Gap in southern Java is thought to be capable of producing a large earthquake. A large earthquake that can trigger a tsunami. The propagation of tsunami waves can be modeled using the initial conditions of the earthquake, where in this study used the Java Slip Deficit Model data (Sri Widiyantoro et al) which is the result of processing data on the movement of the earth's plates based on GPS measurements. With this model, an earthquake strength of 8.46Mw was obtained. The point of observation is determined in each district on the South Coast of Java which includes Pacitan, Trenggalek, Tulungagung, Blitar, Malang, Lumajang, Jember and Banyuwangi. For the first tsunami wave propagation reached Blitar with 36 minutes and the highest wave propagation in Trenggalek with a height of 9.1949 meters. The tsunami hazard level on the Watulimo coast is dominated by a very low to medium hazard level, and the area of very high hazard level reached 637.93 Ha with a percentage up to 7.35%.
