Abstract

================================================================================================
For decades, flexible risers have been a technological solution in various oil and gas exploration activities in both shallow and deepwater. Flexible riser is a production facility that connects floating structure facilities with subsea wells. FPSO with internal turret mooring configuration is often the choice, because of its ability to adjust to the direction of environmental load conditions (weathervaning). The motion response of the FPSO with various scenarios and loading conditions can be a major factor in the strength of the flexible riser. The maximum tension and minimum bending radius (MBR) of the flexible riser are aspects of the study. This study discusses the responsiveness of the lazy wave flexible riser. The FPSO mooring system consists of an internal mooring turret with 9 lines mooring legs configuration which is divided into 3 groupings. The analysis will look at two different scenarios. First, the stand alone extreme scenario (FPSO) with full load and ballast. Second, the operating scenario when FPSO is connected to Shuttle tanker with FPSO (full load)—Shuttle tanker (ballast) and FPSO (ballast)—Shuttle tanker (full load). The lazy wave flexible riser strength analysis will be carried out on a time domain basis. From the results of the analysis, it is known that in extreme scenario, the maximum maximum tension of the flexible riser is 153,93 kN and the MBR is 5,17 meters with the ballast load conditions. Meanwhile, under operating conditions, the maximum tension is 121.27 kN when the load condition is FPSO (ballast)—Shuttle tanker (full load) and MBR is 5,05 meters when the load is FPSO (full load)—Shuttle tanker (ballast).
