Abstract

The discovery of ancient brick structures in Alas Sumur Village, Pujer Sub-district, Bondowoso Regency by a well digger is interesting to study, because so far Bondowoso Regency only has Megalithic Sites. For that reason, it is necessary to do research that can describe the subsurface conditions in order to prove these findings. In this study, the geoelectric method is used which has the advantage of controlling the depth according to research needs with non-destructive nature. The resistivity geoelectric method can be used to describe the subsurface conditions laterally and vertically. The resistivity geoelectric method utilizing the difference in potential values from the injection of current which provides a good picture of the subsurface through the cross-section of the distribution of the resulting resistivity values. The configuration used in this study is the Wenner configuration which is very sensitive to local and shallow lateral changes. This study aims to determine the subsurface conditions and the distribution of bricks in the alleged archaeological sites. This research was conducted in Alas Sumur Village, Pujer Sub-district, Bondowoso District. There are 4 tracks with a length of 1,3, and 4 tracks that are 48 meters long, while track 2 is 96 meters long. The measurements data in the field were processed using the Res2dinv software. From this final project, the lithology of breccia, andesite, clay, and sandy clay can be obtained. Anomali resistivity values were detected with a range of values (19 - 25Ωmeters) which were suspected as bricks. The Anomali is found on paths 1, 3, and 4. Based on the combination between the tracks, we obtained a direction pattern like the letter L on tracks 1 and 4 with the same depth at 3 meters below the surface and a thickness of 2 meters. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out excavations as a validation development of the historical story.
