Abstract

One of the food industries in Indonesia still uses human labor in the process of packaging products into cardboard boxes. Product packaging carried out by human labor requires considerable operational costs and the quantity and quality of production cannot be increased. With the development of technology, a company can increase production and maintain product quality which was previously done by human labor for packing a product. To increase the speed and quality of products, companies need automatic tools for packing a product. With these needs, making this final project in collaboration with PT. Industrial Robotic Automation makes Small Box Case Packers. This tool uses a 2-axis delta robot that has X and Z movements for the product packing process.
To run this automatic packaging system so that it runs in a structured process, this research uses a PackML-based method as the operating state of the machine and testing tools to find out the system is running well, as well as testing the speed of the tool system to determine the performance that can be generated from the case packer to produce a product. The test results on this automatic packing machine can produce 3.3 boxes per minute or 120 products per minute. And the results obtained using a system based on PackML that is able to analyze the performance of the machine and produce machine malfunctions of less than 3% and the machine is able to run with good performance of more than 95%.
