Abstract

This design of ship’s EEOI monitoring software is an early stage prototype which
is intended as a monitoring tool in an attempt to increase ship’s energy efficiency as
economically as possible, based on the standards stated by International Maritime
Organization (IMO) to reduce exhaust gas emission in the marine environment. This
software will calculate resistance value using Holtrop Method and STWave Method,
engine power, and fuel oil consumption, using empirical formulation. So, it will
determine the value of emission and Energy Efficiency Operational Indicator (EEOI) of
the ship. Before calculating these calculations, some data are needed to support the
calculation, such as ship static data, ship dynamic data, and voyage data that are
integrated. Where ship static data is obtained based on input from the administrator in
charge of the ship. Voyage data is obtained based on input from operator on duty on the
ship. While ship dynamic data in the form of timestamp and ship’s position during the
voyage are obtained based on AIS server data which connected to the software. This
software is designed in the form of a website-based application using JavaScript
programming language. This software will display a map to show the latest position of
the ship, the trajectory that has been passed, EEOI index value on latest position and also
the average of the EEOI index value, during the voyage on the dashboard menu. For the
additional information, this software will show more information such as, average of
emission value, speed average, and total fuel consumed during the voyage.
