Abstract

Hospital ships can be a solution to health problems in areas with many islands such as North Maluku Province. This is because the ship is flexible to reach between islands. In this final project, the hospital ship was designed using a catamaran hull form because it required a large deck. The hospital ship is designed to be equivalent to a type C hospital which has 4 types of basic health services. The ship is planned to circle the islands with nine stopping points. The main dimensions of the hospital ship are determined based on the total required area of the hospital, access, and mooring equipment, which is 1023.59 m2. The area is divided into two operational hospital decks. The main dimensions obtained include lpp 38.43 meters, lwl 40 meters, loa 44 meters, Bm 15 meters, demihull width B1 4.3 meters, the distance between demihull S 10.7 meters, H 4.8 meters, T 2.14 meters, cb 0.397, and Vs 12 knots. In this final project, an analysis of the performance, safety, and comforts were carried out. Based on the performance analysis results, the total resistance value of the ship is 147,248 kN. Based on the safety analysis results, the actual freeboard value of the ship is 2.66 meters. According to the results of the analysis of passenger comfort (motion sickness incidence), it was concluded that ship passengers did not experience symptoms of seasickness during a 3-hour cruise at a speed of 0 knots and 12 knots in waters with heading angles following seas, beam seas, and head seas. In this final project, the cost value of building one hospital ship unit is Rp24,517,140,725.61-, and operational cost per year is Rp14,100,393,318-,.
