Abstract

Energi yang dibutuhkan oleh manusia pada era modern sekarang adalah energi listrik. Namun dari sektor pembangkit listrik belum menghasilkan kecepatan putar generator yang stabil. Kecepatan putar generator dipengaruhi oleh kecepatan putar internal combustion engine. Maka dari itu pada penelitian ini dibuat governor controller sebagai pengendalian kecepatan putar internal combustion engine.
Untuk membuat hasil rancangan dan pembuatan alat bekerja dengan normal, maka perlu perhitungan dan penelitian untuk mengendalikan kecepatan putar mesin. Salah satu komponen yang akan diterapkan sistem pengendalian adalah governor. Fungsi dari governor adalah mengatur aliran gas untuk mengendalikan kecepatan putar mesin. Perencanaan governor menggunakan metode fuzzy logic agar pada saat terjadi error dikarenakan kurangnya tekanan gas pada inlet internal combustion engine maka governor akan membuka valve lebih lebar, begitu juga sebaliknya.
Dalam mengendalikan kecepatan putar internal combustion engine tetap stabil dibutuhkan sistem close loop. Nilai set point pada penelitian yang dilakukan adalah 3000 rpm. Respon sistem dalam perubahan beban sebesar 100 Watt membutuhkan waktu 1,4 detik untuk mencapai set point dari waktu terjadi error pada detik ke 1,4 dan kembali set point 3000 rpm pada detik 2,8. Logika fuzzy pada governor controller belum mencapai hasil yang diinginkan dikarenakan kurangnya data uji coba. Pada saat penelitian terjadi pemberlakukan pembatasan kegiatan masyarakat untuk mencegah penyebaran virus covid-19, sehingga governor controller yang telah dibuat terbengkalai di laboratorium.

The energy needed by humans in the modern era now is electrical energy. However, the power generation sector has not yet produced a stable generator rotational speed. The rotational speed of the generator is affected by the rotational speed of the internal combustion engine. Therefore, in this study a governor controller was made to control the rotational speed of the internal combustion engine.
To make the results of the design and manufacture of the tool work normally, it is necessary to calculate and research to control the rotational speed. One of the components that will be implemented by the control system is the governor. The function of the governor is to regulate the gas flow for the desired result. The governor control planning uses the fuzzy logic method so that when an error occurs due to the lack of gas pressure at the inlet of the internal combustion engine, the governor will open the valve wider, and vice versa.
In controlling the rotational speed of the internal combustion engine, a close loop system is needed. The set point value in this research is 3000 rpm. With a close loop system, it can keep the engine rotating speed. The system response in a load change of 100 Watt takes 1.42 seconds to reach the set point from the time an error occurs at 1.38 seconds and returns to the set point of 3000 rpm at 2.80 seconds. The fuzzy logic on the governor controller has not achieved the desired results due to the lack of test data. At the time of the study, restrictions on community activities were imposed to prevent the spread of the covid-19 virus, so the governor controller that had been made was abandoned in the laboratory.
