Abstract

Attention-Deficit / Hyperactiviy Disorder (ADHD) merupakan salah satu gangguan neurobiologi berupa ketidakmampuan memusatkan perhatian, mudah teralih, impulsif, dan hiperaktif. Anak dengan ADHD biasa bersifat agresif, penuh semangat, tidak dapat tenang, sulit diajar, dan tidak tahan lama atau susah fokus saat melakukan suatu aktivitas. Dengan ini anak ADHD membutuhkan perlakuan, penanganan khusus, serta sarana dan prasarana yang sesuai dengan anak penyandang ADHD. Salah satu sarana khusus yang terlihat signifikan dengan sarana normal lain yaitu bangku belajar yang dirancang untuk anak ADHD. Bangku belajar sendiri merupakan sarana yang perlu diperhatikan karena merupakan furniture yang sering berinteraksi dengan anak ADHD dalam jangka waktu yang lama. Pertimbangan baiknya suatu desain yaitu terpenuhinya kebutuhan yang dapat menyesuaikan kondisi pengguna. Untuk mendapatkan solusi dilakukan wawancara dengan ahli, calon pengguna berupa anak ADHD usia 6-9 tahun, studi tentang ADHD, active seating, fidgeting, ergonomi, warna, benchmarking terhadap eksisting, dan analisa pengguna.
Hasil dari perancangan ini yaitu desain set furniture berupa meja dan kursi yang menggunakan konsep active seating, safe, dan calm untuk mendukung aktivitas belajar anak ADHD di sekolah khusus. Desain kursi menggunakan konsep active seating berupa whole body fidgeting dengan ketinggian yang dapat menyesuaikan anak usia 6-9 tahun. Desain meja yang ergonomi dan dapat menyesuaikan tinggi anak usia 6-9 tahun dengan bentuk yang simpel dan safe untuk anak ADHD. Desain ini menggunakan kombinasi warna muted brown untuk memberi kesan clean dan tidak menimbulkan distraksi, dipadukan dengan warna biru terang untuk memberi nuansa calming dari sisi psikologi dan memenuhi preferensi user. selain itu penulis membuat alternatif tata ruang dengan pengaplikasian sarana belajar beserta kebutuhan ruang kelas ADHD berdasarkan tinjauan teoritis sebagai rekomendasi untuk kelas khusus ADHD di sekolah saat ini maupun kedepannya.

Attention-Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurobiological disorder in the form of inability to focus attention, easily distracted, impulsive, and hyperactive. Children with ADHD are usually aggressive, full of enthusiasm, unable calm down, are difficult to teach, and can't last long or have trouble focusing when doing an activity. With this, children with ADHD need treatment, special handling, as well as facilities and infrastructure that are suitable for children with ADHD. One special facility that looks significant compared to other normal facilities is a study bench designed for children with ADHD. The study bench itself is a tool that needs attention because it is furniture that often interacts with children with ADHD for a long time. The good consideration of a design is the fulfillment of needs that can adapt to user conditions. To get a solution, interviews with experts were conducted, potential users were in the form of children with ADHD aged 6-9 years, studies on ADHD, active seating, fidgeting, ergonomics, color, benchmarking to product existing , and user analysis.
The results of this design are furniture sets in the form of tables and chairs that use active seating, calm, and safe as the concept to support the learning activities of children with ADHD in special schools. The chair design uses the concept of active seating in the form of whole body fidgeting with a height that can adjust for children aged 6-9 years. The table design is ergonomic and can adjust the height of children aged 6-9 years with a simple and safe form for children with ADHD. This design uses a muted brown color combination to give a clean impression and not cause distraction, combined with a muted blue color to give a calming feel from a psychological standpoint and fulfill user preferences. Besides that, the authors make spatial alternatives by applying learning tools along with the needs of ADHD classrooms based on theoretical reviews as recommendations for special ADHD classes in schools now and in the future
