Abstract

Tren pertumbuhan konsumsi daging sapi berkorelasi dengan jumlah daging sapi kemasan yang diproduksi di Surabaya. Sebagian besar kemasan daging sapi terbuat dari plastik non-biodegradable yang dapat berdampak signifikan terhadap lingkungan. Selain itu, produksi kemasan daging sapi dapat berdampak signifikan terhadap lingkungan melalui emisi yang dikeluarkan melalui siklus hidup penuh kemasan daging sapi. Dengan demikian, tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan dampak lingkungan dari siklus hidup produksi daging sapi dari peternakan ke pengumpul daging sapi dan pengemasan daging sapi dari ekstraksi bahan baku hingga pembuangan. Dengan memeriksa dampak lingkungan yang terkait dengan setiap sistem pengemasan, kami dapat mengidentifikasi area yang dapat diperbaiki dan peluang untuk mengurangi dampak lingkungan secara keseluruhan dari pengemasan daging sapi di Surabaya. Metode yang digunakan untuk mengetahui dampak lingkungan dari kemasan daging adalah Life Cycle Assessment dengan bantuan software SimaPro. Melalui studi ini, kami dapat memberikan dampak positif terhadap lingkungan sekaligus memberikan pilihan kemasan daging sapi yang lebih berkelanjutan dan ramah lingkungan kepada konsumen.

Beef consumption trend growth has correlation with the amount of beef packaging produced in Surabaya. Most beef packaging is made from non-biodegradable plastic that can have significant impact to the environment. Furthermore, production of beef packaging can have a significant impact on the environment through emission emitted through a full life cycle of a beef packaging. Thus, the aim of this study is to determine the environmental impacts from the life cycle of beef production from farmyard to beef collector and beef packaging from raw material extraction to disposal. By examining the environmental impacts associated with each packaging system, we can identify areas where improvements can be made and opportunities for reducing the overall environmental impact of beef packaging in Surabaya. The method that are used to obtain environmental impact of beef packaging life cycle is Life Cycle Assessment with software SimaPro. Through this study, we can make a positive impact on the environment while also providing consumers with more sustainable and environmentally friendly beef packaging options.
