Abstract

The island of Lembongan, a marine nature tourism destination, can be accessed by tourists using fast passenger ships from Sanur Harbor, as it can transport passengers in a relatively short time. The power required to achieve such high speeds is also relatively large (around 1,000 HP), using gasoline engines that are not environmentally friendly. Efforts have been made to reduce emissions by using better fuel, operational methods, and catalytic converter installations, but the resulting pollution remains high. The use of electric propulsion systems is considered a solution to this problem. Therefore, this Final Project aims to design a Sanur-Lembongan tourist ferry. This research is conducted by identifying the cost impact of electric propulsion ships compared to conventional ships. The reference ship used has an average length of 18.7 meters and an average carrying capacity of 80 passenger. Four ship design scenarios are developed, taking into account the use of electric motors and batteries. The ship design with inboard engine electric motors and embedded batteries resulted in the highest carrying capacity (61 people) and the lowest operating cost (Rp 87,523 per passenger) as well as the highest profit of 29%. Linesplan and general arragement are developed based on the existing design
