Abstract

Stroke is a disturbance in brain function that occurs, and can cause someone's death, due to impaired blood circulation to the brain. Stroke is the second highest cause of death in the world and the highest cause of death in Indonesia. Stroke needs special attention in terms of handling starting from prevention, treatment and also after stroke. Efforts that can be made by sufferers after a stroke (post-stroke) are following a rehabilitation program which includes physical therapy, or better known as physiotherapists and psychological therapy. To find a solution to the problem above, a static bicycle design is carried out. The design method has several stages, namely concept development based on literature studies from previous studies. The selected concept bicycle design is designed for the physical rehabilitation of post-stroke patients and is also designed to be used when post-stroke patients have recovered. The bicycle is designed with dimensions of 1521.5 mm × 488 mm × 1127 mm. For bicycle ergonomic analysis, use CATIA software with a RULA value of 3. The material used for the manufacture of the frame and backrest is Aluminum 6061, while the pedal axle is made of AISI 1040 material. For strength analysis, ANSYS and solidwork software are used. From the strength analysis, the bicycle frame is safe to use, where the stress that occurs is less than the allowable stress of the material of 277 MPa with the stress that occurs due to the load on the holder of 119.94 MPa and the stress due to the load on the pedals of the bicycle is 236.67 MPa.
