Abstract

You Only Look Once) berkembang pesat.

Football is one of the popular sports globally, and goalkeepers play a crucial role in this sport. However, in their training, many football clubs still rely on manual methods and require teammates to assist in their practice. This leads to a hindrance in realizing the full potential to maximize their inherent talent. Thus, there is a need for a ball throwing device that can aid in goalkeeper training. Current research in ball throwing devices is limited to machines that can launch balls. The shooting process is still manual, involving directing the machine towards the desired target. On the other hand, research on fast object detection using the YOLO (You Only Look Once) algorithm has been rapidly advancing. Nevertheless, its implementation in the realm of sports is still lacking. There is a necessity for collaboration between YOLO algorithm research and the field of football to create a ball-throwing robot. In the creation of this automated ball-throwing robot, the YOLO algorithm is employed to detect the goalkeeper and the goalposts. The results of confidence scores in this study average at 80.56% for 5 goalkeepers and a confidence score of 85.46% for the goalposts. The goalposts are divided into 3 target areas: right, left, and center. Once the presence of the object is determined and the throwing targets are identified, a mini PC will control motor drivers to throw the ball away from the goalkeeper by adjusting the speed variation of two motors. Based on the results obtained from the look-up table, RPM values have been selected from trial experiments considering appropriate strength and direction. For position A (left goalpost), 2335 RPM is set for motor 1 and 463 RPM for motor 2. For position B (center goalpost), 1469 RPM is set for motor 1 and 1431 RPM for motor 2. Lastly, for position C (right goalpost), 472 RPM is set for motor 1 and 2151 RPM for motor 2. Based on the findings of this research, it is hoped that this device can be beneficial in goalkeeper training.
