Abstract
Di dalam dunia industri, sifat mekanik dari material biasanya ditentukan dari pengujian tarik, karena sifat mekanik material dapat lebih diketahui dari pengujian ini Namim karena sifatnya yang merusak benda kerja yang diuji, maka kemudian dikembangkan suatu metode pengujian indentasi untuk memperoleh sifat mekanik material. Dari berbagai metode pengujian indentsi yang sering digunakan, yaitu : pengujian Brinell, pengujian Rockwell, dan pengujian Vicker. Pengujian Brinell dengan indentor bola digunakan dalam penelitian ini karena indentor bola mampu menggambarkan daerah transisi pembentukan elastik menjadi elastik - plastik saat material diberi beban. Pada penelitian ini digunakan metode pengujian indentasi Brinell dengan indentor bola berdiameter 2,5 mm dan pemberian beban yang bervariasi. Hasil pengujian kemudian menjadi input data untuk memperoleh tegangan luluh dan tegangan maksimum. Hasil pengujian indentasi selanjutnya diverifikasi ulang dengan bantuan metode elemen hingga menggunakan ANSYS 9.0. Kedua hasil pengujian ini juga dibandingkan dengan hasil uji tarik untuk memperoleh hubungan sifat mekanik diantara pengujian tarik dan pengujian indentasi. Dari hasil perhitungan yang dilakukan dengan pengujian indentasi Brinell dengan beban 1837,5 N diperoleh nilai penyimpangan yang terlalu besar karena persyaratan
0,2D<d<0,7D tidak terpenuhi yang menyebabkan material mengalami sinking-in sehingga makin besar diameter indentasinya sehingga beban yang diperbolehkan untuk pengujian pada Aluminium 7075-0 yaitu 306,5N dan 612,9N. Pengujian indentasi Brinell dan dibantu simulasi pengujian dengan software Ansys 9.0 dapat digunakan untuk mendapatkan informasi awal sifat mekanik material paduan Aluminium 7075-0 apabila pengujian tarik tidak memungkinkan dilakukan pada material Yang jumlahnya sedikit atau dalam rangkaian komponen mesin

In the industrial world, the mechanical properties of materials are usually determined from tensile testing, because the mechanical properties of materials can be better known from this test. However, because of its damaging nature on the workpiece being tested, an indentation testing method was then developed to obtain the mechanical properties of the material. Of the various indentation testing methods that are often used, namely: Brinell testing, Rockwell testing, and Vicker testing. The Brinell test with a ball indenter was used in this research because the ball indenter is able to depict the transition area from elastic formation to elastic - plastic when the material is loaded. In this study, the Brinell indentation testing method was used with a ball indenter with a diameter of 2.5 mm and varying loads. The test results then become input data to obtain the yield stress and maximum stress. The indentation test results were then re-verified with the help of the finite element method using ANSYS 9.0. These two test results were also compared with the tensile test results to obtain a relationship between the mechanical properties between the tensile test and the indentation test. From the results of calculations carried out using the Brinell indentation test with a load of 1837.5 N, it was obtained that the deviation value was too large due to the requirements 0.2D<d<0.7D is not met which causes the material to experience sinking-in so that the indent diameter becomes larger so that the permissible loads for testing on Aluminum 7075-0 are 306.5N and 612.9N. Brinell indentation testing and assisted by test simulations with Ansys 9.0 software can be used to obtain initial information on the mechanical properties of 7075-0 Aluminum alloy material if tensile testing is not possible on small amounts of material or in a series of machine components
