Abstract

Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara yang menghadapi pandemi Covid-19, meskipun keadaan telah membaik. Untuk menghindari dampak kesehatan dari pandemi, pemerintah sejak awal mengeluarkan peraturan penerapan sistem kerja baru, yakni work from home dan work from office untuk menekan adanya persebaran virus. Salah satu jenis perusahaan yang menerapkan kedua sistem ini adalah perusahaan start-up. Start-up merupakan perusahaan rintisan yang biasanya khas dengan penggunakan teknologi sebagai media platform yang utama, sehingga dianggap lebih siap dengan penerapan sistem kerja work from home dan work from office. Faktor-faktor dari work from home, antara lain, self-management tactics, telework environment, work-family conflict, workload, dan organizational support, sedangkan faktor yang melekat pada work from office, antara lain, fasilitas kerja, hubungan dengan rekan kerja, serta keamanan. Dibutuhkan usaha manajemen untuk meningkatkan produktivitas karyawan, khususnya di masa pandemi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat pengaruh faktor-faktor dari work from home dan work from office terhadap produktivitas karyawan start-up di masa pandemi, yang diharapkan dapat menjadi pertimbangan dalam pengambilan kebijakan yang tepat untuk penerapan sistem kerja. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan menggunakan metode Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) dalam menganalisis data yang diperoleh. Untuk memperoleh data, penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner yang disebarkan secara online dengan menggunakan teknik snowball sampling dan telah mendapatkan 99 responden dari minimal 96 responden. Terdapat delapan hipotesis hubungan dari antar variabel pada karyawan start-up untuk sistem kerja work from home dan work from office terhadap produktivitas kerja. Hipotesis self-management tactics dan telework environment pada sistem kerja work from home, serta hubungan dengan rekan kerja dan keamanan pada sistem kerja work from office di masa pandemi dinyatakan diterima. Namun, hipotesis untuk work-family conflict, workload, organizational support pada sistem kerja work from home, dan fasilitas kerja pada sistem kerja work from office dinyatakan ditolak karena beberapa penyebab, diantaranya adalah karakteristik dari perusahaan start-up yang membedakan dari jenis perusahaan lainnya.

Indonesia is one of the countries that facing the Covid-19 pandemic, although the
situation has improved. To avoid the health impacts of the pandemic, the government from the
beginning issued regulations for the implementation of a new work system, which are work
from home and work from office to suppress the spread of the virus. One type of company that
implements these two systems is a start-up company. Start-ups are companies that are usually
using technology as the main media platform, so they are considered more prepared with the
implementation of work from home and work from office systems. The factors of work from
home are self-management tactics, telework environment, work-family conflict, workload, and
organizational support, while the factors attached to work from office are work facilities,
relationships with coworkers, and security. Management efforts are needed to increase
employee productivity, especially during the pandemic. The purpose of this study is to examine
the influence of factors from work from home and work from office on the productivity of start
up employees during the pandemic, which is expected to be a consideration in making
appropriate policies for the implementation of the work system. This research was conducted
with a quantitative approach and used Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS
SEM) method to analyzing the data. To obtain data, this study used a questionnaire distributed
online using the snowball sampling technique and has obtained 99 respondents from a minimum
of 96 respondents. There are eight hypotheses of the relationship between variables in start-up
employees for work from home and work from office work systems on productivity. The
hypothesis of self-management tactics and the telework environment on the work from home
work system, as well as relationships with colleagues and security on the work from office work
system during the pandemic was accepted. However, the hypotheses for work-family conflict,
workload, organizational support in the work from home work system, and work facilities in
the work from office work system were rejected for several reasons, including the
characteristics of start-up companies that distinguish them from other types of companies.
