Abstract

The frequency of disfuction that always happened to the packaging machine for coffee powder SMS Baron SVB- 150 in PT. Santos Jaya Abadi that produced coffee powder and fried coffee bean still high. Four main system often happened
disfuction are volumetric rotary system, roll film holder system, drive system and horizontal sealer system. For his time, the repairing that we can do only change the broken parts without analysing the caused of disfuction machine.
From that case we can do systematically repairing with analysing the cause of disfuction and redesign the sy tem including to build the component or the spare parts. The right method to analysing and evaluating for this problem is the Root Cause Analysis (RCA). For while to identification that happened and to avoid probability problems wiU happen at the design, we can use the failure Mode And Effect Analysis
(FMEA) method. After notice the caused of machine disfuction, the design of development and the prototype for the performance testing can build. The conclusion after performance testing at 60 ppm speed machine are length defferences of pack without eyemark correction is 3 mm tmtil 7 nm1 per pack, lenght defferences of pack with eyemark
correction is 3 mm until 5 mm per pack and the deviation the weight stabilization product 2.5% . With the prototype performance, the machine had been produced can find the functions and that hoped to fuction by integrated in the production process.
