Abstract

Pelapisan kitosan pada Tin plate secara elektroforesis telah diteliti. Kualitas hasil pelapisan dikaji dari homogenitas ketebalan lapisan kitosan dan ketahanan korosinya dalam media 3% NaCl. Ketebalan lapisan kitosan pada Tin plate mengalami peningkatan dan penurunan dengan variasi lamanya waktu dan pemberian potensial pada proses elektroforesis. Pelapisan kitosan pada variasi waktu 10 menit dengan potensial 2,5 Volt menghasilkan ketebalan lapisan kitosan yang terbaik yaitu 64,80±5,15 μm dan mampu menurunkan laju korosi Tin plate dari 6,1172 μA menjadi 1,7980 μA.

Chitosan coating on Tin plate by electrophoresis has been investigated. The coating quality was tested by homogeneity analysis and corrosion resistance ability in 3% NaCl. Chitosan coating yield showed increasing and decreasing by variation of time and potential. The best time and potential variation in 10 minutes and 2,5 Volt which reduce the corrosion rate from 6,1172 μA to 1,7980 μA.
