Abstract
Sejak tahun 1980-an konsep baru motor listrik telah banyak berkembang. Isu pemanasan global dan penghematan penggunaan Bahan Bakar Minyak (BBM) merupakan isu pendongkrak berkembangnya teknologi motor listrik. Motor DC konvensional sudah dikenal efisien dan bebas polusi, namun masih memiliki kekurangan yang perlu diperbaiki. Maka diperlukan pengembangan maupun perancangan motor listrik baru untuk mendapatkan performa motor listrik yang lebih baik. Pada motor listrik DC konvensional sistem transmisi listriknya membutuhkan cincin komutator berupa sikat (brushed) terbuat dari arang (carbon). Brushed tersebut memerlukan penggantian berkala untuk umur pemakaian tertentu. Kekurangan lainnya pada jangkar motor DC brushed harus logam feromagnetik untuk mengatur fluks magnetnya. Hal tersebut menyebabkan terjadi cogging torque yang menghambat putaran motor, karena terjadi gaya tarik menarik antara jangkar (rotor) dan magnet yang bertindak sebagai stator. Demikian dengan motor DC brushless radial fluks, meskipun sudah be roperasi tanpa cincin komutator, pada motor DC brushless radial fluks masih terjadi hambatan congging karena penggunaan core armature ferromagnetic untuk mengatur arah fluks magnetik dari lilitan. Serta penggunaan core armature menyebabkan motor listrik lebih berat. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, dalam tugas akhir ini akan dirancang sebuah motor DC listrik brushless dengan arah fluks axial. Karena motor listrik dengan flux magnetik axial ini dapat didesain tanpa armature (coreless). Sehingga hambatan cogging dapat dihilangkan dan lebih ringan. Selain itu dengan desain axial ini akan memudahkan motor listrik dihubungkan dengan model paralel. Dengan sistem hubungan paralel ini diharapkan motor listrik yang dirancang akan memiliki perbandingan power to weight yang lebih baik dari motor listrik DC brushless konvensional.

Since the late 1980s a new concept electric motor has a lot of growing . The issue of global warming and saving the use of fuel oil is an issue of growing technological electric motor. Conventional DC motors are well known efficient and pollution- free , but still has shortcomings that need to be fixed . It would require the development and design of new electric motors for performance electric motors better. A conventional DC motor require a commutator ring brush made of charcoal (carbon) for electric transmission systems. Brushed require periodic replacement for the particular service life . Other deficiencies in the anchor brushed DC motor must ferromagnetic metal to regulate the magnetic flux. This causes the cogging torque occurs that inhibits motor rotation, due to attractive forces between the anchor (rotor) and a magnet which acts as a stator . Similarly, the radial flux brushless DC motor, even though it operates without a commutator ring, the radial flux brushless DC motor congging barriers still occur due to the use of a ferromagnetic armature core to set the direction of the magnetic flux of the coil . And the use of core electrical motor armature causing more severe . To overcome these problems, in this thesis will be designed an electric brushless DC motor with axial flux direction. Because the electric motor with axial magnetic flux can be designed without the armature (coreless). So that barriers can be eliminated and the cogging lighter. An addition to this will facilitate the design of axial electric motor is connected to the parallel model. With a system of parallel connections is expected that the electric motor is designed to have a power to weight ratio better than conventional brushless DC electric motor.
