Abstract

Lembar plastik HDPE daur ulang adalah material yang berasal dari limbah plastik berjenis HDPE. Limbah plastik ini berasal dari berbagai sektor, dimana menurut data dari Kementerian Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan (KLHK) bahwa 38,38% limbah berasal dari sektor rumah tangga. Tingginya penggunaan plastik ini menggerakkan berbagai industri untuk melakukan daur ulang. Sejalan dengan pertumbuhan industri fesyen di Indonesia, sektor ini berpeluang untuk dapat berkontribusi dalam mengurangi limbah plastik dengan menggunakan material daur ulang dalam pembuatan produknya. Peluang besar industri fesyen dapat ditingkatkan dengan memasukkan unsur budaya daerah, khususnya motif batik Jetis Sidoarjo yang semakin luput dari perhatian anak muda. Hal ini dibuktikan dari data kuisioner yang melibatkan 40 responden, hampir 80% di antaranya belum mengetahui batik Jetis Sidoarjo. Implementasi motif dari batik Jetis Sidoarjo dan juga penggunaan material daur ulang dapat menciptakan peluang baru dalam industri fesyen yang berkelanjutan. Penelitian dimulai menggunakan observasi, kuisioner, dan in-depth interview untuk pengumpulan data pendukung serta menentukan target potensial. Dan diiringi dengan eksperimen untuk mengetahui pengolahan dan perlakuan terhadap material daur ulang. Perancangan ini bertujuan untuk memanfaatkan kembali material limbah plastik HDPE untuk menjadi sebuah barang fesyen yang fungsional dan fashionable, sebagai upaya eksplorasi pengolahan limbah plastik menjadi barang yang bernilai dan estetik, serta sebagai media pengenalan budaya daerah dengan mengaplikasikan budaya daerah Sidoarjo dalam produk rancangan. Hasil produk yang diharapkan adalah produk tas yang terbuat dari material limbah plastik HDPE dengan konsep maximalism yang menonjolkan bentuk, warna, dan tekstur. Serta menonjolkan motif dari batik Jetis melalui pengaplikasian pada lembar plastik daur ulang.
=========================================================== Recycled HDPE plastic sheet is a material derived from HDPE type plastic waste. This plastic waste comes from various sectors, where according to data from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) that 38.38% of the waste is from the household sector. This high use of plastics is driving a variety of industries to recycle. Along with the growth of the Indonesian fashion industry, the sector has the opportunity to contribute to reducing plastic waste by using recycled materials in the manufacture of its products. The great opportunity of the fashion industry can be enhanced by incorporating cultural elements of the region, in particular the batik motif Jetis Sidoarjo that is increasingly out of the attention of young people. This is demonstrated by questionnaire data involving 40 respondents, almost 80% of whom have not yet known about Jetis Sidoarjo. Implementation of motifs of Jetis sidoarjos and also the use of recycled materials can create new opportunities in a sustainable fashion industry. The research began using observations, questionnaires, and in-depth interviews to gather supporting data as well as identify potential targets. And accompanied by experiments to find out the processing and treatment of recycled material. The project aims to reuse HDPE plastic waste material to become a functional and fashionable fashion item, as an attempt to explore the processing of plastic waste into valuable and aesthetic goods, as well as as as a medium of cultural introduction of the region by applying the culture of the Sidoarjo region in design products. The expected product outcome is a bag made from HDPE plastic waste material that highlights form, color, and texture. It also emphasizes the Jetis batik motif through application on recycled plastic sheets.
