Abstract

Pencak Silat merupakan bagian dari budaya Indonesia yang sudah ada sebelum Indonesia sendiri merdeka, fakta ini diperkuat oleh The United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) menetapkan pencak silat sebagai warisan budaya tak benda milik Indonesia. Namun, ketertarikan generasi muda akan bentuk bela diri tersebut mulai menurun. Menurut Yayuk Padmi Rahayu selaku ketua PB IPSI seni bela diri pencak silat tergilas oleh kemunculan seni bela diri asing. Dengan fakta diatas, perancangan diatas bertujuan untuk menciptakan video game yang diangkat dari kisah Si Pitung, yang merupakan pendekar silat pada masa kolonial belanda di Indonesia di abad-19 untuk menarik perhatian dan mengangkat kesadaran anak muda tentang pencak silat.

Metode penelitian yang akan digunakan dalam perancangan ini yaitu Tinjauan pustaka, studi eksisting, komparator, dan depth interview. Tinjauan pustaka akan dilakukan kepada sumber literatur yang terkait dengan teknik pencak silat, kisah tokoh sejarah Si Pitung, dan teori penciptaan video game. Lalu studi eksisting dan komparator akan dilakukan kepada media game eksisting bergenre sama, ataupun yang memiliki tujuan sama. Data ini lalu akan diperkuat dengan dilakukannya survey akan minat target pasar pada apa yang ingin mereka lihat pada video game tersebut.

Hasil output ataupun luaran perancangan game tersebut merupakan game yang menceritakan kisah “Si Pitung” melalui media video game dengan kisah yang akurat kepada sejarah beliau, namun dengan sedikit dramatisasi terbatas untuk menjamin kualitas menyenangkan pada game tersebut. Dengan konsep learn and play, dan media yang marak pada generasi muda sekarang dapat menghidupkan kembali kesadaran akan pencak silat, dan menumbuhkan kembali minat mereka akan seni bela diri tersebut.

Pencak Silat is part of Indonesian culture that existed before Indonesia became independent, this fact is reinforced by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) designating pencak silat as Indonesia's intangible cultural heritage. However, the younger generation's interest in this form of martial arts is starting to decline. According to Yayuk Padmi Rahayu as chairman of PB IPSI, the martial art of pencak silat has been crushed by the emergence of foreign martial arts. With the above facts, the design above aims to create a video game based on the story of Si Pitung, who was a silat warrior during the Dutch colonial period in Indonesia in the 19th century to attract attention and raise awareness of young people about pencak silat.

The research methods that will be used in this design are literature review, existing studies, comparators, and depth interviews. A literature review will be carried out on literary sources related to pencak silat techniques, the story of the historical figure Si Pitung, and the theory of video game creation. Then existing and comparator studies will be carried out on existing game media of the same genre, or which have the same goals. This data will then be strengthened by conducting a survey of the target market's interest in what they want to see in the video game.

The output of this game design is a game that tells the story of “Si Pitung” through digital game media with an accurate story about his history, but with a little limited dramatization to ensure the fun quality of the game. With the concept of learn and play, and the media that is popular among today's young generation, awareness of pencak silat can be revived and their interest in this martial art revived.
