Abstract

Isu global terkini berfokus pada pengembangan sumber energi alternatif untuk mengatasi penurunan ketersediaan bahan bakar fosil dan dampak negatifnya terhadap lingkungan. Sektor industri, termasuk industri maritim, sedang aktif mencari metode alternatif guna meningkatkan efisiensi dan mengurangi emisi gas buang, serta meningkatkan kinerja permesinan dan peralatan di kapal. Salah satu solusi yang diupayakan adalah penerapan energi listrik, di mana baterai, khususnya Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion), menjadi unsur kunci dalam penyimpanan energi. Penelitian ini mengevaluasi efektivitas cairan hydrofluoroether TMC 7300 dalam menyerap panas dan menjaga suhu stabil di dalam battery pack dengan berbagai tingkat perendaman dan sudut kemiringan. Eksperimen dilakukan dengan variasi perendaman 30%, 50%, dan 90%, serta dua kondisi kemiringan, yaitu rolling dan pitching. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perendaman pada tingkat 30% menghasilkan distribusi suhu yang tidak merata dengan rata-rata suhu baterai 308,81K (beban 1C), 309,04K (beban 2C), dan 309,64K (beban 3C). Pada tingkat perendaman 50%, distribusi suhu lebih merata dengan rata-rata suhu baterai 305,21K (beban 1C), 305,74K (beban 2C), dan 307K (beban 3C). Tingkat perendaman 90% menunjukkan distribusi suhu paling merata dengan rata-rata suhu baterai 300,65K (beban 1C), 300,62K (beban 2C), dan 300,57K (beban 3C). Pengaruh sudut kemiringan menunjukkan bahwa kondisi pitching menghasilkan suhu yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kondisi rolling. Sudut kemiringan yang berbeda dapat mengubah pola aliran cairan pendingin dan mempengaruhi distribusi di sekitar sel baterai, sehingga pada kemiringan 35° baterai memiliki suhu yang lebih panas dibandingkan dengan kemiringan 15°. Pada sudut kemiringan 15° dan 35°, perbedaan suhu baterai antara kondisi rolling dan pitching pada beban 1C adalah 1,28K, beban 2C adalah 0,77K, dan beban 3C adalah 0,92K. Sedangkan pada sudut kemiringan 35°, perbedaan suhu pada beban 1C adalah 1,46K, beban 2C adalah 1,39K, dan beban 3C adalah 1,56K. Penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa tingkat perendaman yang lebih tinggi dan distribusi cairan yang lebih merata dapat menurunkan suhu baterai dengan efektif.

Current global issues focus on the development of alternative energy sources to address the declining availability of fossil fuels and their negative impact on the environment. The industrial sector, including the maritime industry, is actively seeking alternative methods to increase efficiency and reduce exhaust emissions, as well as improve the performance of machinery and equipment on ships. One solution being pursued is the application of electrical energy, where batteries, particularly Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion), are a key element in energy storage. This study evaluates the effectiveness of TMC 7300 hydrofluoroether liquid in absorbing heat and maintaining a stable temperature inside the battery pack with various levels of immersion and tilt angles. Experiments were conducted with 30%, 50%, and 90% immersion variations, as well as two tilt conditions, namely Rolling and Pitching. The results showed that immersion at the 30% level resulted in uneven temperature distribution with average battery temperatures of 308.81K (1C load), 309.04K (2C load), and 309.64K (3C load). At the 50% immersion level, the temperature distribution is more even with an average battery temperature of 305.21K (load 1C), 305.74K (load 2C), and 307K (load 3C). The 90% immersion level shows the most even temperature distribution with average battery temperatures of 300.65K (load 1C), 300.62K (load 2C), and 300.57K (load 3C). The effect of tilt angle shows that the pitching condition produces higher temperatures than the rolling condition. Different tilt angles can change the coolant flow pattern and affect the distribution around the battery cells, so that at a tilt of 35° the battery has a hotter temperature compared to a tilt of 15°. At tilt angles of 15° and 35°, the battery temperature difference between Rolling and Pitching conditions at load 1C is 1.28K, load 2C is 0.77K, and load 3C is 0.92K. While at an inclination angle of 35°, the temperature difference at load 1C is 1.46K, load 2C is 1.39K, and load 3C is 1.56K. This study proves that a higher immersion rate and a more even distribution of liquid can reduce battery temperature effectively.
