Abstract

In this modern era, along with the increasing mobility of humans, the need for public facilities such as toilets is also increasing. One of the facilities that must be present in the toilet is the urinal. Indonesia as a country with the second largest Muslim population and a male population of 51% makes people pay attention to important things that suit the needs of a Muslim. There are at least three Muslim needs in the toilet, namely unclean, aurat, and non-Kibla orientation. With the existence of shar'i urinal products, the needs of Muslims in the toilet will be fulfilled. This study aims to determine the market potential of shar'i urinal products and the desires of public facility managers related to urinal products that are still in accordance with the rules of Islam. This research uses a qualitative method by conducting interviews with five mosque managers and three Islamic schools to identify customer needs for shar'i urinal products in Surabaya City. The results showed that mosque administrators and Islamic school administrators were interested in using Islamic urinal with the hope of doing some additional features such as liquid soap holders, tissue holders, fragrances, and glass to maximize the usefulness of Islamic urinal products. This can be taken into consideration for the future development of shar'i urinal product.
