Abstract

Kebutuhan akan kendaraan sangat tinggi untuk menunjang aktivitas, dengan adanya kendaraan kegiatan mobilitas dan transportasi dapat dilakukan dengan lebih mudah dan hemat waktu. Namun kebutuhan akan kendaraan yang tinggi tidak didukung dengan ketersediaan bahan bakar yang semakin sedikit. Kendaraan khususnnya mobil merupakan salah satu penyumbang terbesar pencemaran udara. Oleh karena itu perkembangan otomotif difokuskan pada peningkatan efisiensi mesin dan ramah bagi lingkungan Penelitian ini dilakukan pada mesin bensin 4 silinder 4 Langkah 1199 CC. Dilakukan pengujian mobil dengan Turbocharger tanpa intercooler dan turbocharger dengan penambahan intercooler. Perubahan Parameter mesin yang ditinjau meliputi daya, torsi, tekanan efektif rata rata, konsumsi bahan bakar spesifik, efisiensi termal, dan efisiensi volumetrik. Dari penelitian ini didapatkan hasil unjuk kerja terbaik pada turbocharger dengan intercooler, yaitu menghasilkan daya = 168,1 HP pada 6500 rpm, torsi = 190,8 Nm pada 5500 rpm, BMEP = 2000,454 kPa pada 5500 rpm, dan efisiensi termal = 16,99%. Sedangkan emisi gas buang terbaik juga dihasilkan pada turbocharger dengan intercooler yaitu kadar CO = 0,88 %, HC = 256 ppm, CO2 = 13,9 %.

The need for vehicles is very high to support activities, with a vehicle for mobility and transportation it can be done more easily and saves time. However, the high demand for vehicles is not supported by the low availability of fuel. Vehicles, especially cars, are one of the biggest contributors to air. Therefore, automotive developments on increasing engine efficiency and environmental friendliness This research was conducted on a 4 cylinder 4 stroke 1199 CC gasoline engine. The car was tested with a turbocharger without an intercooler and a turbocharger with the addition of an intercooler. Changes in the engine parameters reviewed include power, torque, average effective pressure, specific fuel consumption, thermal efficiency, and volumetric efficiency. From this research, the best performance results on a turbocharger with an intercooler, which produces power = 168.1 HP at 6500 rpm, torque = 190.8 Nm at 5500 rpm, BMEP = 2000,454 kPa at 5500 rpm, and thermal efficiency = 16 ,99%. While the best exhaust gas emissions are also produced in a urbocharger with an intercooler, namely CO levels = 0.88%, HC = 256 ppm, CO2 = 13.9%.
