Abstract
Pada lingkup kampus ITS, berbagai fasilitas umum telah disediakan untuk mendukung kebutuhan dan kenyamanan sivitas akademika. Namun demikian, Fasilitas-fasilitas ini belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal, terutama oleh mahasiswa sebagai pengguna utama. Hal ini mendorong dilaksanakannya penelitian yang berfokus pada bagaimana media promosi dapat dirancang secara lebih menarik dan relevan agar mampu meningkatkan kesadaran serta penggunaan fasilitas tersebut. Proses perancangan dilakukan dengan pendekatan design thinking, yang dimulai dari menggali kebutuhan pengguna, merumuskan masalah, mengembangkan ide, hingga menghasilkan dan menguji prototype desain. Data diperoleh melalui studi literatur, pengamatan media eksisting, wawancara pengguna, serta diskusi dengan desainer grafis kampus sebagai narasumber ahli.
Dari hasil perancangan, ditemukan bahwa desain yang tampil modern, komunikatif, dan konsisten dengan identitas visual kampus dapat menarik perhatian dan menciptakan hubungan emosional dengan pengguna. Berbagai media promosi dikembangkan, seperti poster, katalog merchandise, desain menu kantin, alternatif logo, serta konten Instagram yang dikemas sesuai tren visual mahasiswa masa kini. Respons audiens terhadap media yang telah diuji menunjukkan peningkatan minat dan pemahaman terhadap fungsi fasilitas kampus. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa desain grafis bukan hanya soal estetika, melainkan juga sarana strategis untuk membangun komunikasi yang efektif dan memperkuat keterlibatan sivitas akademika ITS dalam kehidupan kampus.

Within the ITS campus, various public facilities have been provided to support the needs and comfort of the academic community. However, these facilities have not been optimally utilized, especially by students as the primary users. This prompted the implementation of research focused on how promotional media can be designed to be more attractive and relevant to increase awareness and use of these facilities. The design process was carried out using a design thinking approach, which began by exploring user needs, formulating problems, developing ideas, and producing and testing design prototypes. Data were obtained through literature studies, observations of existing media, user interviews, and discussions with campus graphic designers as expert sources.
The design results revealed that a design that appears modern, communicative, and consistent with the campus's visual identity can attract attention and create an emotional connection with users. Various promotional media were developed, such as posters, merchandise catalogs, canteen menu designs, alternative logos, and Instagram content packaged according to current student visual trends. Audience responses to the tested media showed increased interest and understanding of the function of campus facilities. This research demonstrates that graphic design is not only about aesthetics, but also a strategic tool for building effective communication and strengthening user engagement in campus life.
