Abstract

Permasalahan utama yang dihadapi dalam perencanaan produksi di PT. XYZ adalah adanya ketidakpastian permintaan produk dari pelanggan. Hal ini ditunjukan pada periode 2019 hingga 2023, terjadi ketidakseimbangan permintaan produk oksigen cair dengan produk nitrogen cair. Permintaan oksigen cair selama periode 2019 hingga 2023 berada di kisaran 2,954,446 m3 hingga 4,058,586 m3. Sedangkan, permintaan nitrogen cair berkisar antara 1,601,738 m3 hingga 2,760,897 m3. Perusahaan berkewajiban untuk memenuhi seluruh permintaan oksigen cair dari pelanggan. Di sisi lain terjadi surplus produksi nitrogen cair akibat rendahnya permintaan dan keterbatasan pada kapasitas tangki penyimpanan sehingga mengakibatkan pembuangan sebagian produk nitrogen cair. Kondisi tersebut menunjukkan perlunya evaluasi pada perencanaan produksi di air separation unit PT. XYZ. Salah satu alternatif yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengevaluasi kondisi tersebut dengan melakukan pengembangan optimasi pada perencanaan produksi menggunakan model mixed integer linear programming (MILP). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan model optimasi pada perencanaan produksi di air separation unit PT. XYZ dengan metode MILP untuk dapat meminimumkan jumlah losses produk berlebih pada nitrogen cair. Variabel penelitian yang diharapkan pada penelitian ini berupa variabel keputusan yang optimal meliputi jumlah produk yang dihasilkan, kebutuhan jam kerja normal dan jam kerja produksi, serta volume persediaan. Analisa hasil penelitian dilakukan dengan membandingkan antara strategi perencanaan produksi yang dilaksanakan oleh PT XYZ dengan strategi alternatif hasil pengembangan model menggunakan software Lindo 18.0. Hasil optimasi perencanaan produksi didapatkan bahwa strategi alternatif yang diusulkan dapat mengurangi jumlah produk berlebih khususnya produk nitrogen cair sebanyak 1.5% atau sebesar 27,885 m3 selama 12 bulan waktu perencanaan. Skenario Solusi terbaik hasil pengembangan optimasi perencanaan produksi berupa pengurangan jumlah produksi, pengurangan kebutuhan jam kerja produksi dan pengurangan volume persediaan.

The main problem encountered in production planning at PT XYZ is the uncertainty of product demand from customers. This is shown in the period 2019 to 2023, there is an imbalance in demand for liquid oxygen products with liquid nitrogen products. Demand for liquid oxygen during the period 2019 to 2023 ranges from 2,954 m3 to 4,058,586 m3. Meanwhile, liquid nitrogen demand ranges from 1,601,738 m3 to 2,760,897 m3. The company is required to fulfill all liquid oxygen demand from customers. On the other hand, there is liquid nitrogen production was overproduced because of low demand for liquid nitrogen and the limitations on the storage tank, so that causing the disposal of liquid nitrogen products. These conditions indicate that is needed for evaluation of production planning in the air separation unit of PT XYZ. One of alternatives to evaluate these conditions is optimization on production planning using mixed integer linear programming (MILP) model. The purpose of this research is developing an optimization model for production planning in the air separation unit of PT XYZ using the MILP method to minimize the excess product losses in liquid nitrogen. The research variables expected in this research are optimal decision variables include the number of products, normal working hours and production requirements, inventory volume that minimize the excess products. Analysis of the results of this research by comparing the production planning strategy implemented by PT XYZ with alternative strategy from the result of model development using Lindo 18.0 software. The results of production planning optimization found that the proposed alternative strategy reduces the number of excess products especially liquid nitrogen products by 1.5% or 27,885 m3 during the 12 months of planning time. The best solution scenario resulting from the development of production planning optimization are reduction in production, production working hours and inventory volume.
