Abstract

Sektor pariwisata secara tidak langsung berperan penting dalam pertumbuhan budaya Indonesia karena keberadaan daya tarik wisata memungkinkan pengenalan keanekaragaman budaya suatu bangsa, seperti seni tradisional, upacara keagamaan, atau adat istiadat yang menarik pengunjung baik dari dalam maupun luar negeri. Salah satu dari budaya tersebut adalah Upacara Adat Erau, yang merupakan salah satu budaya adat istiadat tertua di Nusantara yang berasal dari kerajaan Kutai yang telah berlangsung selama berabad-abad. Upacara Adat Erau merupakan salah satu wisata budaya adat kesultanan Kutai Kartanegara yang juga cepat menjadi daya tarik wisata sejarah budaya di Kabupaten Kutai Kartanegara yang dimana upacara adat ini berkembang menjadi Upacara Adat Erau Kutai. Namun sebagian besar penduduk Kalimantan Timur masih memiliki sedikit pengetahuan dan pemahaman tentang upacara adat Erau yang merupakan warisan budaya lokal mereka. Maka dari itu, untuk mencegah aset budaya ini punah, diperlukan tindakan pelestarian melalui media yang dapat menunjang hal ini. Hasil yang didapatkan dari perancangan ini berupa media video motion graphic dua episode dengan durasi total lima menit untuk menunjang pengetahuan masyarakat serta membantu mempromosikan pariwisata kota Tenggarong. Media ini dipilih karena dapat menyampaikan lima jenis informasi yang berbeda berupa gambar, garis, simbol, suara, dan gerakan secara sekaligus. Pengemasan budaya lokal dalam bentuk video motion graphic tentang sejarah Upacara Adat Erau diharapkan dapat menjadi salah satu media untuk meningkatkan daya pariwisata berbasis budaya. ===================================================================================================================================
The tourism sector indirectly plays a vital role in Indonesia's cultural growth, as tourist attractions enable the introduction of the nation's cultural diversity, such as traditional arts, religious ceremonies, or customs that attract visitors from both domestic and international sources. One such culture is the Erau Traditional Ceremony, one of the oldest indigenous customs in the Nusantara originating from the Kutai Kingdom, which has been held for centuries. The Erau Traditional Ceremony serves as a cultural tourism attraction of the Kutai Kartanegara Sultanate and has rapidly become a historical-cultural tourism draw in Kutai Kartanegara Regency, evolving into the Kutai Erau Traditional Ceremony. However, a significant portion of East Kalimantan's population still has limited knowledge and understanding of the Erau ceremony, which is their local cultural heritage. Therefore, to prevent this cultural asset from vanishing, preservation efforts are needed through media that can support this goal. The outcome of this design is a two-episode motion graphic video with a total duration of five minutes to enhance public knowledge and promote Tenggarong city tourism. This medium was chosen because it can simultaneously convey five types of information in the form of images, lines, symbols, sound, and motion. Packaging local culture in the form of a motion graphic video about the history of the Erau Traditional Ceremony is expected to serve as one medium for enhancing culture-based tourism appeal.
