Abstract
Indonesia sebagai negara kepulauan terbesar dengan lebih dari 17.000 pulau memiliki keragaman budaya yang sangat kaya, termasuk seni tradisional yang beragam. Namun, di tengah dominasi media hiburan modern seperti film dan musik, minat terhadap seni teater tradisional, khususnya teater lokal seperti Barongan, cenderung mengalami penurunan. Barongan sebagai salah satu seni teater ikonik Kabupaten Blora perlu diperkenalkan kembali untuk membangun kesadaran budaya di kalangan generasi muda. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang sebuah game digital bertemakan Barongan Blora yang ditujukan bagi remaja usia 14–18 tahun sebagai media edukasi budaya yang interaktif dan relevan. Perancangan game ini menggunakan metode kualitatif yang meliputi studi literatur, studi eksisting, studi komparatif, studi target audiens, studi eksperimen, serta wawancara mendalam (depth interview) dengan pemilik sanggar tari dan pengembang game. Selain itu, dilakukan pengujian pengguna (user testing) menggunakan kuesioner terhadap pemain yang telah mencoba game tersebut untuk mengetahui tingkat kemudahan penggunaan dan kenyamanan bermain. Hasil pengujian pengguna menggunakan metode System Usability Scale (SUS) terhadap 16 responden menunjukkan nilai rata-rata sebesar 93,75, yang berada pada kategori sangat baik (excellent). Hasil ini mengindikasikan bahwa game memiliki antarmuka, navigasi, dan mekanika permainan yang mudah dipahami, serta mampu memberikan pengalaman bermain yang nyaman dan menyenangkan. Selain itu, game ini dinilai mampu menyampaikan nilai spiritual, filosofi, identitas lokal, sosial, dan hiburan secara efektif dan meningkatkan ketertarikan generasi muda terhadap pelestarian seni teater lokal.

Indonesia, as the world’s largest archipelagic country with more than 17,000 islands, possesses a rich diversity of cultures, including a wide range of traditional arts. However, amid the dominance of modern entertainment media such as films and music, interest in traditional theater arts, particularly local theater forms such as Barongan, has gradually declined. Barongan, as one of the iconic traditional theatrical arts of Blora Regency, needs to be reintroduced to raise cultural awareness among younger generations. Therefore, this study aims to design a digital game themed on Barongan Blora targeted at adolescents aged 14–18 years as an interactive and relevant medium for cultural education. The game design process employed a qualitative approach, including literature studies, existing studies, comparative studies, target audience analysis, experimental studies, and in-depth interviews with a traditional dance studio owner and a game developer. In addition, user testing was conducted using questionnaires administered to players who had experienced the game to evaluate usability and user experience. The results of user testing using the System Usability Scale (SUS) method with 16 respondents showed an average score of 93.75, which falls into the excellent category. These results indicate that the game has an intuitive interface, clear navigation, and easily understood game mechanics, and is able to provide a comfortable and enjoyable playing experience. Furthermore, the game is considered effective in conveying spiritual values, philosophy, local identity, social aspects, and entertainment, as well as in increasing young people’s interest in preserving local traditional theater arts.
