Abstract

Peningkatan pembangunan gedung komersial di Provinsi Bali meningkatkan intensitas aktivitas konstruksi, penggunaan material, serta kompleksitas pelaksanaan proyek, yang berkontribusi terhadap timbulan waste konstruksi selama fase pelaksanaan. Kondisi ini menunjukkan bahwa kinerja manajemen waste konstruksi dipengaruhi oleh berbagai variabel yang bekerja secara simultan dan perlu diidentifikasi serta dianalisis secara sistematis. Meskipun sejumlah penelitian telah mengkaji faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi manajemen waste konstruksi, sebagian besar masih berfokus pada proyek konstruksi secara umum dan belum secara spesifik mempertimbangkan karakteristik proyek gedung komersial, khususnya dalam konteks wilayah dengan intensitas pembangunan tinggi seperti Provinsi Bali. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis indikator pembentuk variabel penentu kinerja manajemen waste konstruksi serta menguji hubungan struktural antar variabel penentu pada proyek gedung komersial di Provinsi Bali. Penelitian ini mengkaji lima variabel penentu Kinerja Manajemen Waste konstruksi, yaitu Kebijakan dan Tata Kelola, Desain dan Dokumentasi, Metode Konstruksi, Manajemen Material dan Alat. Indikator dikembangkan berdasarkan kajian literatur dan dianalisis menggunakan metode Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) berdasarkan data kuesioner dari 111 kontraktor yang terlibat dalam proyek gedung komersial di Provinsi Bali. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa Manajemen Material dan Alat memiliki pengaruh langsung terhadap Kinerja Manajemen Waste Konstruksi, sedangkan variabel lainnya berpengaruh secara tidak langsung. Kebijakan dan Tata Kelola memiliki pengaruh langsung yang sangat kuat terhadap Desain dan Dokumentasi (path coefficient = 0,704), sedangkan Manajemen Material dan Alat berpengaruh kuat terhadap Kinerja Manajemen Waste Konstruksi (path coefficient = 0,544).

The rapid growth of commercial building development in Bali Province has increased the intensity of construction activities, material usage, and project execution complexity, which contributes to the generation of construction waste during the execution phase. This condition indicates that construction waste management performance is influenced by multiple variables operating simultaneously and therefore requires systematic identification and analysis. Although numerous studies have examined factors affecting construction waste management, most focus on construction projects in general and do not specifically consider the characteristics of commercial building projects, particularly in regions with high development intensity such as Bali Province. Accordingly, this study aims to identify and analyze the indicators forming the determinant variables of construction waste management performance and to examine the structural relationships among these variables in commercial building projects in Bali Province. This study examines five determinant variables of construction waste management performance, namely Policy and Governance, Design and Documentation, Construction Methods, and Material and Equipment Management. Measurement indicators were developed based on a comprehensive literature review and analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) based on questionnaire data obtained from 111 contractors involved in commercial building projects in Bali Province. The results of the analysis show that Material and Equipment Management has a direct effect on construction waste management performance, while the other variables have indirect effects. Policy and Governance has a very strong direct effect on Design and Documentation (path coefficient = 0.704), whereas Material and Equipment Management has a strong effect on construction waste management performance (path coefficient = 0.544).
