Abstract

The development of digital technology has changed many things in the field of healthcare, including pharmaceutical services in pharmacies. On the other hand, many drug transactions are still recorded manually and are not integrated into a single system. The purpose of this study is to analyze the needs and perceptions of pharmacists regarding the benefits, challenges, and risks of implementing an Integrated Digital Drug Record System to support Drug Information Services (PIO) in pharmacies. This study uses a qualitative approach with the Conventional Content Analysis (CCA) method. Data were collected through questionnaires and interviews with five pharmacists who have extensive experience, with the help of a conceptual prototype of the system as a medium for discussion. Data analysis was conducted through code grouping, category formation, and searching for relationships between categories. The results obtained show that Conventional Content Analysis (CCA) successfully describes the comprehensive needs and perceptions of pharmacists. There were 80 (eighty) initial codes, 10 (ten) subcategories, and 4 (four) main categories, namely: Perceived Value and Impact, Evaluation of Functionality and Usability, Social Context and User Needs, and Acceptance, Trust, and Future Expectations. A comprehensive overview obtained for the development of an Integrated Digital Drug Record System not only reveals what is needed but also why and how the system should operate in accordance with the existing context. An efficient, integrated system that improves the quality of pharmaceutical services, supports patient safety, patient involvement, transparency, flexibility, and adaptability is a necessity that must be met by pharmacists. Then, pharmacists' perceptions of the system show that the system provides great benefits in supporting Drug Information Services (PIO), even though it is accompanied by challenges and risks. These findings can be the basis for recommendations for the development of digital based pharmacy service innovations that are in line with the needs and health regulations in Indonesia.
