Abstract
Cloud storage merupakan layanan penyimpanan data digital yang memungkinkan pengguna untuk menyimpan, mengelola, mencadangkan, dan mengakses data secara daring melalui jaringan internet. Meskipun layanan ini menawarkan berbagai keunggulan dibandingkan media penyimpanan konvensional, pemanfaatan cloud storage di lingkungan pendidikan tinggi, khususnya di kalangan mahasiswa, belum sepenuhnya optimal. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi niat penggunaan (behavioral intention) dan penggunaan aktual (actual use) layanan cloud storage dengan fokus pada OneDrive sebagai layanan resmi yang digunakan di Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS). Penelitian ini mengintegrasikan Extended Technology Acceptance Model (ETAM) dengan Valence Framework untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh dua belas variabel terhadap niat penggunaan OneDrive oleh mahasiswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui survei daring menggunakan Microsoft Forms dan dianalisis menggunakan Structural Equation Modeling berbasis Partial Least Squares (PLS-SEM). Sebanyak 376 responden mahasiswa aktif S1 Fakultas Teknologi Elektro dan Informatika Cerdas (FTEIC) ITS berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa subjective norm, job relevance, perceived ease of use, experience, dan voluntariness berpengaruh signifikan terhadap perceived usefulness, yang selanjutnya menjadi faktor utama dalam membentuk behavioral intention mahasiswa dalam menggunakan OneDrive. Selain itu, behavioral intention terbukti berpengaruh signifikan terhadap actual use, yang menunjukkan bahwa niat penggunaan yang kuat mendorong penggunaan layanan secara nyata. Sebaliknya, perceived risk dan perceived cost tidak menunjukkan pengaruh signifikan terhadap niat penggunaan dalam konteks penelitian ini. Berdasarkan temuan tersebut, penelitian ini merekomendasikan agar Direktorat Pengembangan Teknologi dan Sistem Informasi (DPTSI) ITS memfokuskan strategi pengelolaan OneDrive pada peningkatan manfaat fungsional layanan, kemudahan penggunaan, serta optimalisasi peran lingkungan akademik dalam mendorong adopsi teknologi. Hasil penelitian ini tidak hanya memberikan kontribusi empiris terhadap pengembangan studi adopsi teknologi di sektor pendidikan tinggi, tetapi juga dapat dijadikan referensi dalam menganalisis penerimaan teknologi digital lainnya pada berbagai sektor.

Cloud storage is a digital data storage service that enables users to store, manage, back up, and access data online through internet-based platforms. Although cloud storage offers significant advantages over conventional storage media, its utilization in higher education, particularly among university students, remains suboptimal. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the factors influencing behavioral intention and actual use of cloud storage services, with a specific focus on OneDrive as the official cloud service implemented at the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) This study integrates the Extended Technology Acceptance Model (ETAM) with the Valence Framework to evaluate the influence of twelve variables on students’ intention to use OneDrive. Data were collected through an online survey administered via Microsoft Forms and analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). A total of 376 active undergraduate students from the Faculty of Intelligent Electrical and Informatics Technology (FTEIC) at ITS participated in this study. The results indicate that subjective norm, job relevance, perceived ease of use, experience, and voluntariness have a significant effect on perceived usefulness, which subsequently serves as the main determinant of students’ behavioral intention to use OneDrive. Furthermore, behavioral intention is found to have a significant positive effect on actual use, indicating that a stronger intention leads to more consistent real-world usage. In contrast, perceived risk and perceived cost do not show a significant influence on behavioral intention within the context of this study. Based on these findings, this research recommends that Direktorat Pengembangan Teknologi dan Sistem Informasi (DPTSI) at ITS focus its OneDrive management strategies on enhancing functional benefits, improving ease of use, and leveraging the academic environment to encourage technology adoption. This study contributes empirical evidence to the literature on technology adoption in higher education and may also serve as a reference for analyzing user acceptance of digital technologies in other sectors.
