Abstract

Edukasi kebencanaan pada remaja masih didominasi pada fase mitigasi dan respons, sementara pemahaman terkait rekonstruksi pascagempa relatif terbatas. Pemanfaatan Virtual Reality (VR) sebagai media pembelajaran interaktif memberikan peluang untuk menghadirkan simulasi yang imersif, termasuk melalui penggunaan Non-Playable Character (NPC) sebagai pemberi informasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh keberadaan NPC dan tingkat keparahan gempa terhadap performa pengambilan keputusan rekonstruksi pascagempa pada remaja awal menggunakan VR RRekon. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan desain eksperimen between-subjects faktorial dengan melibatkan 16 siswa SMP. Variabel yang dianalisis meliputi ketepatan urutan rekonstruksi, coin system, waktu penyelesaian, serta peningkatan pemahaman melalui pre-test dan post-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keberadaan NPC tidak memberikan pengaruh signifikan terhadap ketepatan urutan rekonstruksi (p = 0,293) dan tingkat keparahan gempa juga tidak menunjukkan pengaruh yang signifikan (p = 0,698), serta tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap coin system (p > 0,05). Namun, NPC berpengaruh signifikan terhadap waktu penyelesaian permainan (p = 0,004). Selain itu, penggunaan VR RRekon terbukti meningkatkan pemahaman peserta secara signifikan dengan rata-rata nilai meningkat dari 28,75 menjadi 43,75 (p = 0,002).

Disaster education for adolescents is still largely focused on mitigation and response phases, while understanding of post-earthquake reconstruction remains limited. The use of Virtual Reality (VR) as an interactive learning medium offers the potential to deliver immersive simulations, including through the use of Non-Playable Characters (NPCs) as information providers. This study analyzes the influence of NPC presence and earthquake severity on reconstruction decision-making performance among early adolescents using VR RRekon. The study employed a between-subjects factorial experimental design involving 16 junior high school students. The dependent variables included reconstruction sequence accuracy, coin system score, completion time, and knowledge improvement measured through pre-test and post-test assessments. The results showed that the presence of NPCs did not have a significant effect on the accuracy of the reconstruction sequence (p = 0.293), and earthquake severity also did not have a significant effect (p = 0.698), also NPC presence did not significantly affect coin system performance (p > 0.05). However, NPC presence significantly influenced completion time (p = 0.004). Furthermore, RRekon VR significantly improved participants understanding of reconstruction priorities, with mean scores increasing from 28.75 to 43.75 (p = 0.002).
