Abstract
Conventional history learning, which primarily relies on text-based learning materials, often reduces learners' interest and creates difficulties in understanding historical events, particularly for individuals with dyslexia. This research aims to develop a Virtual Reality (VR)-based educational game entitled TimeDrift: Echoes of Eternity to provide a more interactive, immersive, and inclusive history learning experience. The application integrates visual and auditory elements to reduce users' reliance on written text while enabling them to explore historical events directly within a virtual environment. The development process follows the Game Development Life Cycle (GDLC) methodology, which consists of initiation, pre-production, production, testing, and evaluation stages. The developed prototype was evaluated through user observations and interviews to assess its usability and effectiveness in supporting history learning for individuals with dyslexia. The evaluation results indicate that TimeDrift: Echoes of Eternity provides an engaging multisensory learning experience by combining audio narration, three-dimensional visualization, environmental exploration, and direct user interaction. Participants reported that the application reduced their dependence on text-based learning and helped them better understand the overall historical storyline. Therefore, the proposed application demonstrates the potential of Virtual Reality (VR) as an accessible and inclusive learning medium for history education, particularly for learners with dyslexia, while also contributing to the development of interactive and inclusive digital learning technologies.
