Abstract

Pengendalian kualitas adalah salah satu aspek penting dalam industri untuk menjamin kestabilan dan kesesuaian mutu produk terhadap standar yang telah ditetapkan. Pada industri gula, khususnya gula kristal putih terdapat beberapa karakteristik mutu yang saling berkaitan yaitu kadar air, ICUMSA, dan besar jenis butiran (BJB), sehingga diperlukan pendekatan pengendalian kualitas multivariat. Namun, metode klasik berbasis estimasi rata-rata dan kovarians memiliki kelemahan karena cukup sensitif terhadap outlier serta bergantung pada asumsi distribusi normal multivariat. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan metode robust M-estimator dan S-estimator dalam pengendalian kualitas produksi gula kristal putih di Pabrik Gula Krebet Baru sebagai alternatif yang lebih tahan terhadap outlier dan data yang tidak berdistribusi normal. Tahapan analisis meliputi pembagian data ke dalam fase I dan fase II, pendugaan parameter robust menggunakan M-estimator dan S-estimator serta penerapan diagram kendali multivariat untuk mengevaluasi kestabilan proses produksi. Selanjutnya, analisis kapabilitas proses dilakukan terhadap data yang berada dalam kondisi terkendali.

Quality control is an important aspect in the industry to ensure the stability and conformity of product quality to established standards. In the sugar industry, especially white crystal sugar, there are several interrelated quality characteristics, namely water content, ICUMSA, and grain size, so that multivariate quality control approach is needed. However, the class method based on the average and covariance estimation has weaknesses because it is quite sensitive to outliers and relies on the assumption of a multivariate normal distribution. Therefore, this study aims to apply the robust M-estimator and S-estimator methods in controlling the quality of white crystal sugar production at the Krebet Baru Sugar Factory as an alternative that is more resistant to outliers and non-normally distributed data. The analysis stages include dividing the data into phase I and phase II, estimating robust parameters using the M-estimator and S-estimator, and implementing a multivariate control diagram to freeze the stability of the production process. Furthermore, the capability analysis process is carried out on data that is in a controlled condition.
