Abstract
Penanggulangan korosi adalah salah satunya menggunakan suatu senyawa yang dinamakan inhibitor. Inhibitor yang akan digunakan yaitu kulit buah mangga (Mangifera Indica L). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mempelajari pengaruh ekstrak kulit buah mangga jika ditambahkan dalam sebuah media.
Dalam peneliian ini, menggunakan pipa baja karbon API 5L Gr B dengan media 1M HCL dengan variasi konsentrasi 0, 2, 3, 4, 5l, dan 6 ml. Metode ekstraksi yang digunakan adalah metode maserasi. Dari hasil ekstraksi tersebut dilakukan pengujian Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry. Perhitungan laju korosi dilakukan dengan metode Polarisasi Potensiodinamik dan Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy. Untuk mengetahui produk korosi digunakan pengujian Scanning Electron Microscope.
Hasil pengujian GCMS menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak kulit buah mangga mengandung senyawa Methylamine-D2 Trideuteroethene sebesar 64, 346% dan 2-Furancarboxaldehyde (CAS) sebesar 8, 009%. Senyawa tersebut merupakan heteroatom dan fenolik yang dapat membentuk lapisan hidrofobik pada permukaan logam. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan, penurunan laju korosi sebesar 81,7711% pada penambahan 6 ml ekstrak kulit buah mangga dalam media 1M HCL. Mekanisme inhibisi yang terjadi berupa proses adsorpsi inhibitor pada permukaan logam. Kata Kunci: inhibitor korosi, green inhibitor, laju korosi, API 5L Grade B

One of the kind corrosion prevention was using a compound called inhibitor. Inhibitor to be used in the present study are those derived from natural materials (green inhibitor) nameny mango peel (Mangifera Indica L). The purpose of the present study was to study effects of addition of fruit extracts on a medium.
Pipes used in the study were API 5L Gr B carbon steel pipes in 1M HCL media at various concentrations of mango peel exstracts of 0, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 ml. Exstraction methods used were maseration. The resulting mango peel exstraction was tested using gas chromatograhy. Corrosion rate were calculated by methods of potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. To find out the corrosion result, Scanning Electron Microscope test is performed.
Result of gas chromatography test show that the mngo peel exstract contains Methylamine-D2 Trideuteroethene 64, 346% and 2-Furancarboxaldehyde (CAS) 8, 009%. The compound is a heteroatom and phenol that can form a hydrophobic layer on the metal surface. Based on the research that has been done, the decreasing corrosion rate as 81, 7711% by the increasing 6 ml of mango peel exstract in 1M HCL. Inhibition mechanism which happen is an inhibitor adsorption process on metal’s surface.
