Abstract
=============================================================================================
Corrosion is a material degradation that caused by the influence of the surrounding environment. It was proved, the most effective and economical of corrosion control is coating. Appropriate coating application methods can also cause maximum adhesion bonds between the coating material and the metal that be coated, so that the coating layer can protect against corrosion perfectly. This research was conducted to analyze the effect of coating application method (brush, roll, spray) on low carbon steel plate ASTM A36 to prediction of corrosion rate, adhesion strength, and resistance to impact. The result of corrosion rate test showed that the best method to applicate coating is spray which keeps the corrosion rate as low as possible with the corrosion rate, 0.00029799 mmpy. Followed by brush and roll method have the value of corrosion rate respectively 0.00069233 mmpy and 0.0043177 mmpy. The result of the adhesion test obtained by spray method has the best strength value method with the average value of 22.02 Mpa, whereas the specimen applied coating using brush and roll have mean value of paint attachment power of 20.55 Mpa and 18.13 Mpa. Test results of Impact test, the specimen which applied coating using spray have maximum impact resistance of 4.25 Joule. For specimens are applied using brushe and rool have impact resistance of 4.09 Joule and 3.76 Joule.
