Abstract

Perkembangan industri kreatif styrofoam semakin pesat. Pemotongan styrofoam secara manual sangat sulit dan tidak bisa konsisten. Dibutuhkan mesin pemotong styrofoam yang bisa memotong secara otomatis. Oleh karena itu, pada tugas akhir ini penulis membuat mesin pemotong styrofoam 3 axis menggunakan hot cutting pen yang dapat memotong dari starting point manapun sesuai dengan kehendak operator, sehingga bisa memotong lebih efektif. Pada aktuator terdapat sistem kontrol suhu dengan metode PID agar selama proses pemotongan suhu tetap stabil sehingga hasil potongan rapi dan konsisten. Untuk mengontrol keseluruhan kerja mesin, digunakan mikrokontroler arduino. Pemotongan dilakukan dengan mengirimkan file g-code kepada mikrokontroler melalui software Universal G-code Sender, kemudian mikrokontroler mengirimkan sinyal untuk menggerakkan driver motor dan driver motor menggerakkan motor stepper sehingga dihasilkan gerakan aktuator sesuai dengan gambar pada file g-code. Setelah dilakukan pengujian, didapatkan hasil bahwa kontrol suhu hot cutting pen menggunakan PID masih menghasilkan lebar osilasi sebesar 11º Celcius. Pada pemotongan styrofoam 1 cm diperlukan suhu 290º Celcius dan feed rate 300 mm/min, styrofoam 1,5 cm diperlukan suhu 300º Celcius dan feed rate 300 mm/min, styrofoam 2 cm diperlukan suhu 310º Celcius dan feed rate 300 mm/min, styrofoam 3 cm diperlukan suhu 330º Celcius dan feed rate 300 mm/min. Diharapkan mesin ini bisa menyokong industri kreatif styrofoam di Indonesia. ================================================================= The development of creative industry styrofoam increase rapidly. Styrofoam cutting manually is very difficult and can not be consistent. It takes a styrofoam cutting machine that can cut automatically. Therefore, in this final project the author makes cutt ing machine styrofoam 3 axis using hot cutting pen that can cut from any starting point according to the will of operator, so that we can cut more effective. T here is a temp erature control system with PID method in actuator to stabilize the temperature during the process of cutting so that the cut is neat and consistent. Arduino microcontroller used to control the whole machine work. Cutting prosses starting by sending g - code file to microcontroller through Universal G - code Sender software, then microcon troller sends signal to drive motor driver and motor driver to drive stepper motion so as to produce actuator movement according to picture in g - code file. After the test, it was found that hot temperature control of the pen using PID still yields an oscil lation width of 11 º Celcius. 1 cm cutting styrofoam required 290 º Celsius temperature and feed rate 300 mm/min, Styrofoam 1.5 cm required 300 º Celsius temperature and feed rate 300 mm/min, 2 cm Styrofoam required 310 º Celsius temperature and feed rate 300 mm/min, Styrofoam 3 Cm required temperature 330 º Celcius and feed rate 300 mm/min. It is expected that this machine can support the creative styrofoam industry in Indonesia.
