Abstract

Penelitian awal tentang studi fabrikasi dan karakterisasi directional coupler berbahan serat optik plastik step index multimode tipe FD-620-10 konfigurasi 6x6 dilakukan dengan metode heating and pressing. Pada penelitian ini variasi panjang kupasan adalah 55 mm dan 75 mm dibungkus dengan alumunium foil dan 75 mm tanpa dibungkus alumunium foil. Proses penggandengan dilakukan dengan meletakkan serat optik pada cetakan, kemudian dipanaskan di hotplate pada suhu ±1200 C selama ±10 menit. Hasil fabrikasi menunjukkan adanya penyusutan setelah proses heating and pressing, sehingga didapatkan panjang interaksi berturut turut 33 mm, 35 mm dan 45 mm. Hasil karakterisasi directional coupler didapatkan pada panjang interaksi 33 mm dengan input D1, 35 mm dengan input B1, D1, E1, dan 45 mm dengan input A1, B1, C1, D1, E1, dan F1, dapat digunakan sebagai pembagi daya atau pembagi berkas cahaya. =========================================================================================================== Initial research on the study of the fabrication and characterization of directional coupler made of plastic optical fiber type FD-620-10, 6 x 6 configuration is done by the method of heating and pressing. In this research the variation of the length of peelings are the 55 mm and 75 mm wrapped with alumunium foil and 75 mm without alumunium foil wrapped. Coupling process is done by putting optical fiber in a mold, then heated at a temperature of approximately 1200C on hot plates for approximately 10 minutes. The results showed a retaction after the fabrication process of heating and pressing, so it brings the length of successive interaction takes part 33 mm, 35 mm and 45 mm. The results of the characterization of the directional coupler is obtained on the length 33 mm interaction with input D1, 35 mm with inputs B1, D1, E1, and 45 mm with input A1, B1, C1, D1, E1, and F1 can be used as dividers or power divider beam of light.
